Sandy Beaches, Amber and Fishing Villages

Wide sandy beaches and warm summer weather attracts thousands of tourists to the Polish Baltic Coast every year. Spreading from the city of Świnoujście to the resort of Jurata at the Hel Peninsula, this region is also known as the Polish Riviera.

The Baltic Coast is rich in picturesque fishing villages, where you can still see fishermen taking their boats out before dawn and coming back with their catch in the afternoon. Chłopy, Jarosławiec and Rewa are just a few of them.

The most popular sea resorts along the Baltic Coast include Kołobrzeg, a city combining modern facilities, historic buildings and plenty of entertainment options, Międzyzdroje, called the Pearl of the Baltic and popular for its beaches and cliffs and Ustka, a fishing port with two major beaches connected by a ferry.

You can try some amber fishing as the region is exceptionally rich in the Baltic amber and sometimes it takes just as much as a walk along the beach to find some washed up samples. Don’t forget about the famous dunes in Słowiński National Park, featuring over 140 km of hiking trails.

Whether you’re into relaxing on the beach or more active holidays, the region offers plenty of opportunities to fulfil all your needs. For a perfect accommodation, visit Booking.com and find the best hotels on the Baltic Coast.

The hotel left a pleasant impression. The room was decent and had all the necessary amenities: there was air conditioning, good towels, and drinking water available in the corridor. The staff were friendly. Breakfasts were tasty and varied, with a wide selection of dishes, coffee options, and sweets. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the beach and about the same to the port. Overall, nothing super special, but the hotel is suitable both for rest and for work, the room has a comfortable workspace.

Meal in our own business but the provider offers really good equipped kitchen. But the highlight ist the combination of the place itself with the nature and close nature. This is combined with the great playgrouds for the kids and swimming pools directly in the area. We got really good recommendations for the area but the reality excedded the reputation.

Great place to relax. Delicious and varied food, drinks, sweets. Excellent wellness area, a small aquapark area with a pool and jacuzzi, but it was enough. Huge area with seating, grill area, and benches. You can go to the city and walk to the sea.

I've been going there since 2006.

I've been going there since 2006. It's a little patch of paradise that I look forward to visiting every couple of years. Very clean, lively, family friendly and safe. They've done lots of work over the years to make a wonderful promenade as well. The beach is always clean and visitors do their part to keep it that way. And the beach bars outrank the beach bars on the German side of the border (Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf) any day of the summer!

It was our first time in that city, and the Baltic shore, in general. We were in Poland before, and we loved Kołobrzeg and its beaches. If you're a foodie, you will love it here too, since there are tons of options to eat, to choose from. The weather wasn't that hot, but that didn't hold us back from swimming in the sea.

We went for 3 days which was perfect for us. Feel we got to do everything yet still had time to relax in those 3 days. Weather was beautiful. Lots of walking to do. Very cheap to rent bicycles and lovely cycle route to do. Parks are beautiful to walk in and the beaches are beautiful.

The beach is amazingly accessible.

The beach is amazingly accessible. You can get right to the center of Mielno by train or minibus. It's a 15-minute walk to the beach from the transportation hub. All you have to do is walk up one of several well-paved streets with trees and sidewalks, and you are there on the beach. Beaches are free! Lots of good restaurants a stone's throw away. The town does a good job with waste disposal. Barely any litter anywhere. I was so impressed.

I am again extremely happy to be able to visit Ustka. This time it was only few days in October but it was so worth it. We had sunny days and we walk close to the water. Food at the restaurant located at the Promenade was fabulous 👏👏😊 I will highly recommend to visit Ustka because when you do you will want to come back! Kindly, I.S.

Very touristy in August as expected, but no trouble finding a place to stay and lots of restaurants. Some areas are very walkable, but the beach was insanely crowded. We did the long hike forest/ beach/ dune hike at Slowinsky park and it was beautiful and interesting but quite challenging. From Leba it is a 45 minute drive so don’t believe it when someone tells you it is close.

There are a lot of vacationers in the city, too many advertisements, there is a lack of general peace. We did not bring any souvenirs, because they are all the same (most likely made in China). We saw the same souvenirs in Jestrebia Gora and Hel. The good thing is that there are many different shops where you can buy food.

We travel to Hel every year with my family.

We travel to Hel every year with my family. The beaches are clean, the sea fresh, beautiful area full of forrests, ideal also for bike rides. There is a brilliant (possibly educational) walk all around the beach, wheelchair and stroller friendly from which you can see both the sea, local flora, read about Hel and watch a sunsent on the bench. Plenty of fresh smoked fish, shrimp, also local resaraurants are great. Plenty of activities for children including exotic butterfly exposition, many museums and seal rescue.

Nice beach with a high cliff side.

Nice beach with a high cliff side. Do not come here if you have mobility issues as most entrances require walking a long flight of stairs. Too high for small children, older people etc. A bit further away from the centre, there is an entrance with much fewer steps, however. The amount of bars and restaurants is very big but nothing outstanding. "U Rybaka" is popular but expensive and not really great for the price. Long queues every day there but not sure why. We ate twice there and it was average. A bit too busy especially over long weekends. The downside is that apart from the beach and walking, there is not much to do there. So 5 days I s probably enough to stay there and see everything you need.
