Our room was spacious and clean, and we had everything we needed - including a balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains around Herculane. The hotel has two restaurants which are beautiful, but we only had breakfast there so we cannot judge the dinner or lunch menue. Breakfast was plentiful and offered a varied selection. The buffet was always filled up quickly, the staff always cleared the tables quickly and efficiently. Everyone was very friendly. Both pools (inside and outside pools with thermal water) are very nice. The hotel also has a spa area. We loved the sun terraces and the spa and pool area after a long day of hiking and walking. Food avalaible, not so hot, it was a very relaxing vacation. We also visited around lake Surduc and we did a first small hicking to the waterfall Sopot. Our Superior room was modern, the furniture was new and the bed was very comfortable. We were on the 12th floor and the view of Timisoara was spectacular! Because of the great weather, we were able to use the outdoor swimming pool which was great, but we used the interior spa & pool more often. We enjoyed the swiming pool and the jacuzzi. The view of the mountains is beautiful and the history associated with this place. The Apollo bath museum, the statue of Hercules and the Casino are nice places to visit. The town is nice and very clean and it has enough to offer, even in winter. The not-so-good aspect is that it is rather quiet in the evening, so it is not recommended for people who seek entertainment throughout the night. There is a lot of history starting with the fortress on top of the hill above the town from the era of fighting Turks. Great restaurants and very close to Belgrade. Taxi service is excellent and inexpensive. For best "cevapi" go to BIG and Restaurant Walter, for roast piglet(PECENJE) or roast lamb I recommend Restaurant Beli Narcis or Kod Velje. Both are excellent. Stayed in Timisoara twice. It's a very beautiful city. It's got such a nightlife vibe, 11 PM and the main square is full of people having fun. On my 2nd stay here there was a festival and there was a concert in the Liberty Square, with tons of people, beer, fast food places etc. Architecturally also, the city is very nice.
