I have been travelling for over 2 months and have covered and stayed in many European countries on my journey. The friendliness and warmness that I received from Valerie and his family was second to none as I was welcomed into the Mocanu family home. I was given a tour of the garden, which included access to an area where I could sit, relax and enjoy the sunshine. There was also safe and secure storage for my bicycle, which was very much appreciated. On deciding to eat dinner there in the evening at Casa Mocanu, I was treated to a very traditional Romanian 3 course meal, made from homegrown produce, along with homemade pickles. Mihlaela had cooked the meal, and was happy to discuss and provide information on each of the courses. I had a very comfortable nights sleep in a sizeable bed, and was given an extra treat in the morning as Michaela demonstrated how she prepared Scovergi, a traditional Romanian fried bread taught to her by her grandmother. Furthermore, Valeriu helped me buy train tickets for myself and my bike, as I was travelling on to Bucharest. Close to and easy access to Eurovelo6 cycle route. Given the opportunity, I would definitely stay here again

This should be a 5-star property. Super modern, and all the facilities you could need and more! I only stayed one night but wish it could have been more! The host was super accommodating, especially as I arrived a little late!

I had a great stay, although I am still getting used to the contrast between the often drab exterior and staircase and the beautiful apartments.

We stayed for one night and had a great experience. The apartment is newly renovated, very clean, and we rested extremely well. The host was very kind and thoughtful - they even turned on the air conditioning before our arrival, which made the place pleasantly cool, especially since the weather was very hot during that time. Overall, everything was perfect for a short stay. Highly recommended!

The room met my expectations – clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. The apartment looked impeccable, with everything exactly as described. Communication with the host was excellent: I received all the necessary information in advance, which made the check-in process smooth and easy. Thank you for a pleasant stay!

Just have being there one Day. Enough. Nothing there, Nothing worth to visit. Also people walking around like Zombies. No laugh, no Spirit. Not a place to be, I know now why people from cities like this migrate to western europe.

This is a border town between Bulgaria and Romania, and the only reason we found ourselves there was to wait for a PCR test unexpectedly before crossing the border. There are fairly good facilities there, ie a Carrefour and Kaufland etc. There are also some restaurants and takeaways if you find yourself there. We went to Pizza Misu, and one pizza was great, one not so good, but amazing value for money (around £6 for 2 large pizzas!) Like everywhere in Romania and Bulgaria, there are many stray dogs and so it is not very pleasant to walk around with your own dog, but it is interesting.
