- From $164.42 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 638 reviewsAn amazing building staffed by amazing people. The food was top notch, matching the service. The staff was very knowledgeable regarding the history of the building and I even got a personal tour by the fantastic Michael, due to me having the luck of arriving on a slow evening. The chef had a night of due to this, but Michael made me a fabulous Toast Skagen and the best Västerbotten pie that I have lever tasted. Come to think of it, the Toast Skagen was propbably the best I ever had as well. It was served with some fantastic ölkorv (small smoked sausages). The building itself is truly amazing, I think you could walk here for days and still find new amazing details of loving craftsmanship. It is truly astonishing and a thing of beauty to behold. Henceforth, whenever I visit either Huskvarna or Jönköping, I will choosr Hotell Slottsvillan whenever possible. The 10 minute drive to central Jönköping is well worth it due to the astonishing experience of feeling as the King of the Castle for a few days. 12 out 10 stars!Guest review byIsakSweden
- From $105.01 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 3,034 reviewsThe premises are wonderful. The cabin is warm and cozy, and so is the staff. My friend watched a hockey match inside the reception area with the owner and a man called Erling who hangs out there some times, while I rested in the cabin. We had driven all the way from Athens, Greece and were so tired. Ended up booking another day before driving the last stretch home, after Erling had spent a lot of his time helping us find winter tires and a place to assemble them. Will definitely come back. This place is an oasis in the world and we feel so blessed to have found it. Just 30 minutes walk into town and there's even a huge lake with a beach that looks magical in the snow. Thank you for hosting us. Can't recommend this place enough.Guest review byThoerbjoernGreece

This is an average size Swedish city situated between two lakes. For international travel it is well connected with Gothenburg by bus and rail. We went there to take compete at IronMan 70.3. It is a very friendly place with lots of locals coming to support athletes like me. Cafe and restaurant prices are very reasonable compare to bigger Swedish cities. Bus and rail fares are quite low.Guest review byAndreyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Charming little village with cobble stones and pretty facades. Known for the sweets and lollies. Compare the prices as the main street tends to be more expensive. Take the boat to Visingso and rent a bike to discover the island.Guest review byGeraldineBelgium - 10.0

Great place if you are passing by Jönköping but doesnt want to stay downtown, close enough and far enough. Dont park on the hotels parking lot if you only stay for the night, better to park just outside, its much cheaper.Guest review byJose RosassSweden - 8.0

We were travelling over to Gothenburg so this was a great little stop over town en route. We visited the motor museum (which was actually rather good) and took a walk around the waterfront. Some nice bistros and eateries there, all you would need for a short stay. We sadly missed the broadcasting/radio museum nearby as it was closed. The town square itself is nice but there are a quite a few more modern buildings that look a little brutal. We moved on to Vadstena which was a short drive away and a fantastic place to visit. All in all Motala is a great base and to drive to lots of attractions in the surrounding areas. Thumbs up!Guest review byAnonymousSweden - 10.0
Match museum well worth a visit.
Match museum well worth a visit. Delicious coffee from Expresso House Worth looking at Second Hand shop by the station. Walk along the lake path for great views. Texas Longhorn restaurant worth a visit, very tasty burger.Guest review byJennyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Small but very cozy city with beautiful lake views.
Small but very cozy city with beautiful lake views. City is popular for their candies, on the main street of Gränna there is a number of candy shops with huge selection of different sweets and you can see their production process. Could not find a decent place to eat though, basically sandwiches and candies all around :)Guest review byMarksLatvia - 10.0

The weather wasn't as pleasant as we had hoped, but one can't blame Vadstena for that. The castle is well worth a guided visit, and the town is very pleasant for walking, with lake-front paths and many small shops (be careful - they shut at 15.00 on Saturdays).Guest review byAnonymous - 2.0
I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel.
I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. First, the location was completely unsuitable — it turned out to be in an industrial exhibition area, not at all what I expected. I also paid 30% extra for a balcony room, but the balcony faced a parking and loading area, offering no added value. Second and most serious, I was charged at the time of booking via Booking.com, but upon arrival, the hotel claimed they hadn’t received the payment and made me pay again. Despite showing proof of the original charge, the staff refused to help and told me to deal with Booking.com myself. I ended up paying twice for a one-night stay. At checkout, no one took responsibility. Both the hotel and Booking.com admitted they received my money — but neither refunded me. It's now been over a week, and I’ve written and called multiple times with no resolution. I am still waiting to get my money back for the duplicate charge. The complete lack of support, communication, and accountability from both the hotel and Booking.com is unacceptable. I do not recommend this hotel, and I advise travelers to double-check payments and be cautious.Guest review byAnonymousSweden - 10.0
Vadstena is an amazing place.
Vadstena is an amazing place. Lots of culture buildings, castle and of course the famous church. You can take a swim from any place along the lakefront. Taking a walk is highly recommended. Walk all the way out to the lighthouse. If you get hungry, grab something to eat and sit down in the park. Lovely!Guest review byAnonymous
