- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 218 reviewsThis place is such a wonderfully cozy and casual place, with hosts that always greet you with a smile and any help they can offer. The location is beautiful, in the small village of Kosec near Kobarid. The breakfasts were very generous and delicious, with hot and cold foods, fresh fruit. We enjoyed dinner here one night - a lovely evening on the main patio overlooking the mountains with delicious homemade local cuisine, cooked by the mom. The room is appropriately not fancy, but it is clean and comfortable and just spacious enough. Sitting on our own private patio enjoying wine while looking at the mountains was infinitely relaxing! And they directed us to the local trail, an easy 1 1/2 hour hike, which was beautiful with many waterfalls! Great advice!!Guest review byPaulCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 1,454 reviewsFirst, I did not understand the lower rankings of this hotel, as everything was excellent. The staff at the hotel, from check-in to check-out, provided excellent tips for rafting and booked rafting trips for us, all of which were well-organised and effective. The staff in the hotel cafe bar were wonderful too. Our room was amazing, it was so warm outside, but we did not even need an air conditioner. Beautiful view. The breakfast was very generous, and a wide variety of local products were available. Very environmentally friendly, with a reduced carbon footprint. The hotel was genuinely doing it; it is the way of life. Well done.Guest review bySenchi_United Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.9Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 90 reviewsAmazing views! The chalet was clean and cozy and hosts were so welcoming and friendly. We were able to use their e-bikes and go on a beautiful bike ride from the property. The local wine and beer on tap, loca cheeses and baked goods, coffee, etc we’re all really nice touches. We hope to stay here again!Guest review byMollyUnited States

Bovec is a great town for outdoor lovers - river trips and hiking. Some superb restaurants in the area with very reasonable prices for the quality - Bistro 9:45, Restaurant Mangrt. Not too touristy in SeptemberGuest review byBruceUnited States - 8.0

Kobarid is a very charming place, ideal for an active vacation. However, there aren’t many cycling routes separate from the main road, which can sometimes feel inconvenient or less safe. Compared to other nearby towns, Kobarid is quite small.Guest review byAnamarijaSlovenia - 10.0

Log pod Mangartom is an excellent base for all adrenaline activities. It’s a small place without nightlife, making it an ideal location for sports and outdoor enthusiasts. There are many foreigners, and it is filled with positive energy because the natural surroundings make you forget about the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I recommend early morning walks as the freshness, scents, meadows, and mountains will leave you breathless with their beauty.Guest review byMarijaCroatia - 10.0

Kobarid is a nice town by the river Soca with only cca 1000 inhabitants, but as a regional center the town serves a cca 5000 heads strong community. Worth to visit the Kobarski Muzej (WWI museum), the town center with the church, restaurants and very very good ice cream. Do not miss to climb up to the church and Italian monument, check out the Napoleonov most (Napoleon's bridge) and the Slap Kozjak (Kozjak waterfall). These are all accessible on foot. You can also take a tour following a marked hiking trail, see the beautiful nature, the mountains, the emerald color of the Soca river, historical monuments line WWI trenches and forts all along the river. Enjoy yourselves!Guest review byÁkosHungary - 4.0

No restaurants at all available (back in 2018 in Hotel Alpine there were awesome pizzeria), no shops - nearest is 12 km away in Bovec, church bells wake you up in 7 AM. Surrounding area is extraordinary beautiful, air is and water are first class.Guest review byZoran BabichCroatia - 10.0
Great location for walking, rafting, kayaking etc.
Great location for walking, rafting, kayaking etc. It's a pretty town centre with two small supermarkets, and two big ones just on the edge of town. The cable car isn't working right now - might be a while before it is back in action. But the Soca River has to be seen to be believed - just amazing. The local tourist office were really helpful too. The range of restaurants is a bit limited - burgers seem to be the common theme - but the quality is great, if not the variety!! Great bar, Thirsty River, in the middle of town. Lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. Felix Bar a great place with good food too.Guest review byJoeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

My visit to Kobarid (Caporetto) was primarily to spend time in its superb war museum and the WWI open air museum on the Kolovrat 15 kms to the east. As mid-September is classed as 'out-of-season' getting to the latter proved difficult (no public transport out of season!) but with the kindness of strangers - the people of Kobarid - I was able to make it there. The scenery in this part of Slovenia is spectacularly beautiful, the people of Kobarid warm, helpful and friendly. I hope to go back some day.Guest review byPhilip MNetherlands
