The receptionist was very helpful, arranging a taxi to and from the pier as well as a motorbike rental for us.
The room was spacious, well-equipped, and quiet at night.
A great place to stay – highly recommended.

United KingdomThe location is unreal! It’s totally away from the huddle and bustle, perfect for us and wanting to be in a tranquil escape. It was so peaceful listening to the waves and birds at night and mornings. It’s a small complex so always plenty of deck chairs and places to sit and not many guests. Feels like a prefect private place to have a break. The owners are so passionate about giving you a perfect stay. They collected us from the pier and dropped us off. When we arrived we had a fresh coconut and mango sticky rice. Our room was very large, great working new air con too. Shower was powerful and hot. They went above and beyond more times than we could count we extended our stay once there as it was so perfect. From free coffee, breakfast, free kayaks, they arranged scooters for us and helmets too, advised us places to go. It was just so perfect! We will definitely be back. After all that and more they even gave us a small gift as we left. Thank you

AustraliaWe loved the bungalow we stayed in and the hospitality of the staff. It was not a 5 star resort but that added to the uniqueness of the place. They were quite accomidating to all our needs. Dylan was lovely and helpful and always happy to assist. we loved the vibe of that side of the island. Yes the beach might be slightly better on the other side but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we will be back. We loved being so close to the beach and had an amazing time. Thankyou Dylan and your staff we loved Koh Mak.

AustriaBest hotel on all the islands! We had an incredible time. The pool and its view are outstanding, the breakfast buffet is very good for Thai standards, the staff is incredibly friendly. You can write them anytime on WhatsApp. The food and drinks are also very good - try the pad thai and the passion fruit smoothie and thank me later! The rooms see beautifully decorated and spacious, with AC and a fan above the bed. This hotel just offers the best money for value :)

I Have got the best room of the hotel with the stunning view all over the island. The manager gave me a good discount on it as it was low season and made sure I was happy to everything on the offer. The staff were all friendly and the owner went above and beyond to make sure I was having a good time on the island. She sent me suggestions on where to eat or drink or swim. The interior is the rooms is curated with such a good taste and the garden is extremely well Looked after. There is even a gym, a yoga Shala and a gorgeous pool to relax. I arrived thinking I wouldn’t wanna spent so much time on a such quiet island, but after 2 days I started making plans to actually move there!! Koh Mak is a Thai Gem! Beautiful little spots (hammocks, sun loungers, big rocks to sit on, etc.) that enabled a very relaxing way to hang out watching the sailboats and sunsets. Excellent value for money especially when you factor in the complimentary breakfast and free taxi shuttle to the Ao Nid (Boonsiri) pier. But excellent value for money just based on the bungalow and property too. Super unique and enjoyable pool. Just wish the pool was open later to cool off in after dinner (they currently close to pool at 6 pm which seems super early to me for a pool that isn't lifeguarded anyway). Off the end of the pier, they also have a sunken motorcycle, golf cart, and car along with some coral nurseries that are fun to snorkel around when the water visibility is good. There are no other resorts nearby so you can enjoy private and wild beach. It is also excelent place for snorkeling and observing under water garden created by Michal -the owner of the resort. Michal and Riam are great hosts - easy-going, helpful, with perfect recommendations what to do and see on the island. The restaurant at the resort is very good - with fresh, like homemade Thai food. There are some shops, little market and local restaurants walking distance from the resort. Other parts of island are easley accesible by motorbike or taxi. Koh Mak is quite small but beautiful and has a lot of nature. Good kick-boxing school. Variety of good eating places Koh Mak seafood being one of them. It is far more relaxed than Koh Chang with less to do but I actually found the peacefulness and serenity more alluring. The people are friendly and it has a up early sleep when the sunsets kind of vibe but also if you want to be out later you can. There are some very picturesque beaches and bars. Also a variety of takes on food By the sea has great sandwiches etc. If the weather turns bad then this is when the boredom may be an issue. However I loved the thunderstorms and lightening shows. After researching on Google satellite I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Much lusher and more tourist-friendly than I expected. Though it's a small island, there's enough there to explore more than we could in 3 nights. And it is the ideal launching site to visit the famous diving and snorkeling sites around Koh Rang island. Very small island which is still kind of rural and not very touristy. That also means that there are not many amenities or fun things you can do. Accommodations are more basic, food or bar options are limited, and you've seen all of the island in a few hours. But you can also have a perfect chill time without any noisy tourist crowds or big loud party areas. Beaches are great.
