The staff was super nice and efficient, taking care of guests needs. Food in the restaurant was good, including the New Year buffet, good value for money. Breakfast had an ample choice of savory Western and Asian options and fruit (adding a couple of sweets would be great). The beach was clean and beautiful with an ample swimming area cordoned off so boats could not approach. The room was spacious and very clean, and very quiet through the night. Probably a better choice than the sea view rooms, which are right next to the little pool where kids start to play early in the morning. The restaurant is great, clearly one of the best on the island, and breakfast was delicious. Staff is very helpful. The beachfront is clean, and that part of the bay isn't too busy with boats. You can rent a paddle board or kayaks. An extra bonus is the incredibly smooth logistics from mainland to the island and back. No working ATMs can be a problem if you don't have scan and pay. I don't like carrying that much cash. Other than that, its a perfect quiet get away. Everything i needed was in walking distance. There are many good restaurants and places to sit on the beach at night. But is not a party island. You don't have to worry about loud music late into the night.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Koh Samed has changed quite a bit over the years.
Koh Samed has changed quite a bit over the years. It now feels much more like a tourist hot spot than a quiet island escape… and it’s still developing. You can still find only moderately-populated powder white beaches however, with some of the best local on-beach restaurants anywhere in the country. And it’s only 50B for a shaded deckchair all day. In terms of negatives it can become overpopulated on weekends, and in the high season, and can be very scruffy in places when you go in land.
