Traveling during this period was such a great choice (less people, beautiful autumn sunny weather). I think the place is even better than in the pictures, the atmosphere, the music and vibes were magical. All the staff were very professional and kind, both of the hotel and Moniq restaurant. A special thanks to Resul, that spent plenty of time guiding us through what to do based on the number of days we were staying, booked us a wonderful ballon ride and many more things he did for us every single day . We also had dinner twice at Moniq restaurant, one in front of the fireplace in the room, very romantic and cozy. The baklava was delicious and the cocktails also super high quality. If you are planning to travel here, Taskonaklar is the place to be, trust me. Ortahisar is a beautiful little town. It’s quite quiet but a short taxi ride into slightly busier Goreme. I’m glad we stayed in Ortahisar though as it was much more relaxing and quaint. Hisarönü Restaurant was our favourite place to eat - fantastic food, lovely Cappadocian wine and shisha. We even got given a free slice of cake as it was the owners birthday. It is a lovely small town next to Goreme (famous for the hot air balloon rides and pointed rock structures) so its a short ride away with none of the hustle and bustle of a touristy town. It has many local restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance, to eat at without breaking the bank. There is a promenade with on the river with jungle gyms and play areas for little kids. Beautiful and quiet place. Less busy and less expensive than Georme. Locations near Uçhisar castle is very lively but rule is same. closer your stay to main hub costly and busier it gets.
