- From $110.40 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 3,008 reviewsThe main attraction of this hotel is that it is catered to families with children. The playroom is large with lots of fun activities for children of all ages. We traveled with a 8 month old, 4 year old, 9 year old, and 12 year old. The playroom had something for all of them to do. When the weather is as hot as it is, having an indoor area for children to spend time means a lot for the parents. Would book again if we visit Yehliu again.Guest review bySuTaiwan

Good sized room with large beds and great bathroom. Breakfast was buffet, with a good choice of food types, western and Asian. Clean, plenty of space and pleasant staff. Close enough on bus to tamsui central, nearby to lots of cafes and restaurants. Roof top pool was great.Guest review byGarethUnited Kingdom
- From $97.96 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 847 reviewsThis hotel was a wonderful seaside resort for our family. The town of Jinshan is quiet and the Loft was a 10 minute walk to the beach. The pool and onsen facilities were amazing -- my family had so much fun in the pool. It seemed quiet and secluded even though it was on a busy street. Breakfast was good also.Guest review byM BarfieldJapan

Fabulous place. Rather touristy, but the character is great. Very hilly, and steep. Great coffee shops. Old street very crowded but quaint, and touristy. Great treks to be had, but very steep steps. Great local sightseeing. Well worth a visit.Guest review byRosemarieUnited Kingdom - 10

The highlight of my trip was my morning stroll by the riverside. It was a peaceful Sunday morning. The weather was cool and it was not that sunny. In contrast with the hustle and bustle of the previous Saturday evening (which was also a sight to behold), there were not a lot of people at the plaza and the park apart from some joggers and men fishing in the river. I culminated my stroll with a visit to one of the popular eateries in the neighbourhood serving authentic a-gei (淡水老牌阿給 創始店, No. 6之1號, Zhenli St, Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan 251). This was one of the reasons I wanted to visit Tamsui. I ordered a-gei with a side of fish ball soup. And it did not disappoint. The a-gei was very filling and flavourful. It reminded me of sotanghon I used to eat back home. The fish balls, on the other hand, were packed with filling and immersed in a hot peppery soup. I was looking for a relaxing/restful experience for my weekend trip. I definitely got that during my stay in Tamsui.Guest review byIzzah Mei - 8.0

Our stay was just an overnight stay with two planned activities: walking the Lion's Park Seaside Trail and hiking the nearby Lover's Lake Trail. Unfortunately, we encountered heavy rain on day two and skipped the Lover's Lake Trail.Guest review byHarold 康海文Taiwan - 6.0

Good location and right on yellow line subway. Close to a small night market. I can speak Chinese,so no communication problem. But, not sure if someone who can’t speak will be. It does have cockroaches.Guest review byChungyi (Emma)United States - 8.0

Nice place to visit, but don't bother staying overnight if you enjoy travelling around many different places. We stayed 2 nights and were back in Taipei by mid afternoon of checkout day. I recommend having a car/bike because walking around mountainous areas is tiring, especially when it's raining. Food here is excellent.Guest review byJoshua - 8.0

I really enjoyed just escaping Tapei for a few days and basking in the nature, even if one day was just storms and rain. There was some vegan options at Old Street and at the hotel, and the view across the water was incredible. If you have any physical issues, keep in mind there are a lot of steep steps, hills and cobblestone pathways that may limit accessibility.Guest review byBronwynAustralia - 8.0
Good for walking along the riverside.
Good for walking along the riverside. More interesting if you wander up the back streets. The hotel staff didn’t know where a laundry was but found a laundromat 5 minutes walk away - turn right and walk up the hill - take the first lane on the right and its on the left - self service with washing and drying machines - new and clean.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Within a few hour driving distance to Taipei City, it is one of the most popular spots during the weekends. In this district there is still a large paid parking spot, which is greatly appreciated. Seafood restaurants competition is fierce here, but you still need to know what you are ordering and what king of price information. It does not have the notourious reputation like Fu-Ji port nearby where the restaurante fleeced the clients. If you hate the crowd, and does not like to stay in line for parking or restaurants, avoid the holidays or weekends. During weekdays it is a lot more comfortable. Highly recommend to spend overnight to view the sunrise and sunset and you can go to the beach when it is not as crowded.Guest review byYih HsinTaiwan - 10

We really only walked to old town one day as we spent a lot of time in the hotel and in the hotel spa. However, in one day we in the village we had great street food, took a tram up the mountain, took a vintage train ride, went for a long walk, and we loved our hotel Volando Urai. We didn't get a chance to go to the indigenous museum which looked great. We will visit Wulai again!Guest review byCarolUnited States - 4.0
Tourist trap.
Tourist trap. Beautiful for photos (if you're ok with hundreds of people in the background) but everything else was bad -- soooo overcrowded. The food was bad (except for pineapple cakes) and everything was only open during the peak of the day - around 10-7, so forget about breakfast or a late dinner. If you insist on seeing it then I think a day trip would suffice, sadly staying the night was not at all beneficial because once the day tourists leave on their tour busses, the whole place shuts down with metal doors on all the shops in the street so doesn't even make for a good photo.Guest review byTaylorUnited States
