FAQs about hotels in Maine
Stunning Nature And Delicious Seafood
Known as the Pine Tree State, Maine is the easternmost state in the New England region of the United States, famous for its beautiful landscape, delicious seafood and romantic lighthouses. With the Appalachian Mountains to the north and the Atlantic Coast to the south, this state offers plenty to see and do.
Most cities concentrate along the coastline, including the state’s biggest and most popular, Portland. Known for a high concentration of independent shops, galleries, cafés and restaurants, Portland offers ferry and lobster cruises, fun for the whole family.
From Portland, you can visit Augusta, the state capital or Lewiston, an industrial town with plenty of historic buildings. North-east from Augusta there is Bangor, a popular commercial and cultural centre, built along Maine’s main road, the Interstate-95.
Maine is one of the least populous states in the USA, giving you a perfect opportunity to explore its wilderness and admire picturesque scenery. Follow the last stage of the famous Appalachian Trail with its grand finale, the Mount Katahdin or visit the Acadia National Park, spreading across a few islands off the Atlantic coast.
Whether you’re looking to stay along the coastline and enjoy Maine’s famous lobsters, or up north, closer to the mountains and never-ending forests, Booking.com has a great offer for you. Choose from beach hotels to accommodation with hot tubs and indoor pools.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 562 reviewsThe room was comfortable for 4 adults (two parents and 2 young-adult children). Our daughters even said that the hide-a-bed was the most comfortable that they've ever sleep in. You really can't beat the proximity to the beach. The grounds were very well kept, rooms were very clean. Small fridge, sink and microwave made breakfast and lunch easy in the room or at the beach. Need to bring disposable plates and cutlery. Bulk ice machines enable people to fill their beach coolers for the day. We didn't try the heated salt-water pool but it looked great. Bbq's available as well as a very clean laundry room. We appreciated the quiet hours after 10 pm. Definitely a lot of repeat customers, as many people were booking for the following year as they checked out. Always a good sign.Guest review byHeatherCanada
- From $173.31 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 220 reviewsThe room was gorgeous and very spacious. We loved the fact that there was basically a small kitchen to reheat food and such if we had wanted to do so. Add that to the proximity to downtown and the great restaurants and we will be booking again! We even think we got a free upgrade.Guest review byRobertUnited States

Love Bar Harbor, great restaurants, galleries, love walking the shore path and out to Bar Island at low tide. Love the free Island Explorer buses into the National Park and all over Mt Desert Island. Love sea kayaking around the harbor islands. Love biking on the carriage trails in Acadia . Beautiful views of the rocky coastline and the moonrise over the Atlantic. Great and easy access into Acadia National Park.Guest review byElizabethUnited States - 8.0

Bangor was beautiful.
Bangor was beautiful. Hiking all around and a lots of beautiful flowers. Blaze Pizza was really good downtown and also Sea Dog Brewery. The area is easy to navigate and the Penobscot River runs through town. White water rafting was amazing up in Millinocket.Guest review bySullivanUnited States - 10.0
If you enjoy theater take in a play at Ogunquit Playhouse.
If you enjoy theater take in a play at Ogunquit Playhouse. Never disappoints. If live music pleases you go to The Front Porch piano bar. Always a fun night. And when you are just browsing be sure to visit The Abacus. The most wonderful items and gifts. A little bit of everything.Guest review bySharonUnited States - 2.0
The terrible experience started at the front desk as there...
The terrible experience started at the front desk as there was one gentleman working at the counter and 5 individual parties inline. The one employee was inefficient and did little to speed up the process as he gossiped about nothing to the persons standing at the counter. Two of the parties in line walked out. I had no choice but to wait as I pre-paid for the room. If the rest of the stay was acceptable, then the check-in process would most likely have been forgotten. I was in room 216, which is one floor above the parking area and first floor rooms and there was a 3rd floor too. The property had an internal staircase from the parking lot to the upper floors. The second-floor stairs ran along an outside wall of my room 216 and the stairs to the third floor ran along another wall of my room. There was continuous activity up and down the stairs up to 2am. The walls of the room were not insulated enough to deaden the loud noise from the stairwells or the slamming of the doors entering/leaving the staircase. It was a horrible experience, and it was so loud you would think that the stairs were in your room. It was about 6am and the activity up and down the staircase started again. In the end, there were only a few brief hours of silence with little to no sleep. There are several rooms at this property that run along both stairwells to the upper floors that must have the same issues as room 216. I will never go back to this property ever again. Lastly, I have stayed 1,000+ nights in hotels all over the world and this is certainly one of the poorest experiences I have ever had.Guest review byJAMES - 10.0

I had heard so much about The Rachel Carson Reserve and it was well worth the walk, with plenty of benches to rest on. That same day we also visited Kennebunkport to enjoy gift shops and eat dinner at The Boathouse, with delicious Asian Fusion food. When we returned, we had to "walk off" our meal on Wells Beach before retiring!Guest review byGloriaUnited States - 10.0

As someone from the county going to Portland was fun. Lots more to do than were used to, Dunkin close by, tons of stores for shopping. The mall was great, build a bear was a huge hit so was funtown splashtown and the huge arcade In the mall. The pier in old orchard is also a huge hit.
