I love walking, and usually walk a few miles every day.
I love walking, and usually walk a few miles every day. Manhatten IS walkable if, like me, you are pretty fit, plus it's almost impossible to get lost as it has a very logical grid system. If you're not very fit, then it has a good subway system which I did use from time to time. It also has a bike rental scheme that I saw lots of people using (but can't comment on ease of use as I didn't use it myself.) In my experince I found NYC friendlier than I was lead to believe it would be - I had some great chats with people! I cut my knuckle one day (caught it on something exiting the subway) and a street vendor make a great effort to help me with first aid - making sure I was ok. People being warm and friendly was the norm in my experience. My budget hotel was super friendly (The Carlton Arms - East 25th and 3rd Avenue in Gramercy). There is always something to do and something to see. Just a few of the things I did: I went to a comedy show one night at New York Comedy club (the Midtown venue) - which was great fun! I visited the Met museum (stunning - but make sure you allow at least a whole day) walked the High Line from Hudson Yards (really impressive and FREE), skipped going to the Empire State building and instead opted for The Edge - absolutely stunning views, a MUST. I went into St Patrick's Cathedral - a beautiful building to rival any English cathedral, incredible modern mural that is in keeping with the building. I went to Brooklyn (walked via Williamsburg Bridge) and got the very reasonably priced ferry back to Manhatten. On my last day I went to Queens and had the most amazing Tibetan food in Jackson Heights, and had Kashmiri tea in a little Indian cafe - New York is a truly international city. This was my fourth trip to the US but my first to NYC. I am eager to go again, it really is one of the greatest cities in the world.Guest review byrolpa - 10.0
I wish I had more time to explore the area.
I wish I had more time to explore the area. I was born in Queens a long time ago and there have been many changes I would like to have explored. I looked like there were many good restaurants in the neighborhood.Guest review byTerenceUnited States - 6.0

Need to stay at more places and explore more around Brooklyn, mainly explored Manhattan rather than Brooklyn so cannot say much for now. Can only say that DUMBO is an amazing place and everyone that can visit there should visit.Guest review byCanberk - 10.0

We spent a lot of time in the park. Niagara Falls was so beautiful. We went in the evening and watched the colors change. Also the fireworks were great. We would come back again. I hope all of my Grandchildren have the opportunity to come here.Guest review byKathleenUnited States - 2.0

Bronx is a good place but the house and all the shenanigans about no one picking the call but texting only. I thought it was a hotel not knowing it’s a house in some dark places in Bronx. I texted the person back that I’m not interested because I feel uncomfortable and have asked for a refund of $203. Shiiii….Guest review byPhilip - 10.0
The Lake George area is so beautiful.
The Lake George area is so beautiful. The landscape of the mountains and lake are breathtaking. Staying in Lake George Village is preferable since you can walk everywhere in the Village, all the shops and really good places to eat. My favorite thing to do at the end of the day is to just sit and look at the serenity of Lake George.Guest review byMartaUnited States - 8.0

There are some great breweries in town, such as Fidens and Common Roots. I would also recommend Stacks espresso for coffee or breakfast sandwiches. Also worth walking around Empire State Plaza and checking out the New York State Museum as well as the large art installations below the plaza itself. The state capitol building is also very neat, although two sides of it were under construction while I was in town. If you're traveling through on the train as I was, there is a bus that will pick you up across from the train station that drops you off in downtown. It runs every 40 minutes or so.Guest review byKyle FlorenceUnited States - 8.0
It is a very walkable city based on the area I was in.
It is a very walkable city based on the area I was in. Traffic was not to heavy compared to where I am from. The streets are a little confusing with the traffic pattern changes and the lines I the street not being very clear as some of them needed to be repainted but thats probably not an issue if you drive there often . The food we had, mostly take out and a hotel restaurant, was good. Overall it really seems like a lovely place.Guest review bySatrenaUnited States - 8.0

We were here just one day, but were impressed by the architecture. Would have loved to spend more time exploring neighborhoods and checking out the architecture. We had an excellent dining experience near our hotel (The Edward). If in Buffalo, try Mother's. Cozy vibe, great food and cocktails, reasonable prices.Guest review byGlenUnited States - 10.0
Cute walkable town surrounded by beautiful scenery.
Cute walkable town surrounded by beautiful scenery. Vibrant community. Many wonderful options for food and drink. I recommend Mix and Revelry Yards. There is a beautiful little waterfall hiking trail at the edge of town. The farmer's market was an impressive collection of produce, prepared foods, and artisanal goods. There is a huge park with paths, a playground, and kayak rentals. Ithica is a great starting point if you want to visit the many wineries on Cayuga Lake.Guest review byAlys
