- From $407.08 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 517 reviewsA hidden gem in Waikiki – I didn’t want to leave I honestly loved everything about Kaimana Beach Hotel. Even though it’s a known name in Waikiki, it still feels like one of those places you want to keep to yourself because it’s just that good. Mornings here are something else – I’d step out onto the balcony, take in the view, and feel like I was right in the middle of the ocean. Then it was straight down for a swim in the most beautiful, calm water you can imagine. The sunsets? Absolutely unforgettable. And the location is spot on – peaceful and away from the noise, but close enough to walk into Waikiki whenever you want. The ocean breeze keeps everything fresh, so no sticky heat and no mosquitoes – just comfort. The staff are genuinely kind and clearly take pride in what they do. And having Hau Tree right inside the hotel is such a treat – it’s one of Waikiki’s coolest spots, and you can just wander down for a drink or dinner without leaving “home.” Evenings had this lovely buzz – the lobby would fill with people, music and laughter drifting in, and it felt like you were part of something special. On a couple of mornings, a Hawaiian monk seal swam by, totally at ease, and everyone watched quietly – it felt like such a privilege. And right behind the hotel is Kapiʻolani Regional Park, perfect for a morning walk. The fact that the resort fee includes yoga classes was the cherry on top for me.Guest review byŞahinTurkey
- From $220.59 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 965 reviewsWould absolutely recommend the Surfjack and would absolutely go back. Stayed with 2 adults and 2 kids. Great location, beach close, one block to all the action on the main strip of Waikiki, best value two bedroom apartment that we could find - very spacious room and really lovely decor, great pool - deep and just the right temperature, awesome vibe around the pool with great music from 6 - 9 - delicious food - we ate dinner there every night - venturing out and then returning two nights - it’s like the best kept secret in Waikiki! We had an unfortunate incident with some unruly guests and the staff were absolutely awesome got straight onto it (removed them from the hotel) and gave us a complimentary night - well above and beyond what we expected and awesome customer service. Can’t say enough good things about this place.Guest review byDonaldNew Zealand
- From $258.33 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,001 reviewsThe hotel is in the perfect location if you want to go to Honolulu central and Waikiki beach. The staff was very accommodating. My father was on hospice and I had to keep extending my reservation, and I had to get my husband to pay for my stay remotely, which took a lot of coordination with the staff and authorizations, etc. We had to do this at least 4-5 times over my stay, including parking. They made it very easy and I was able to stay in my same room the entire time. The room was great, and it's so nice to be able to open the doors of the lanai so the whole wall is open to the outside. Also, the mini-kitchen was very helpful to have and the laundry was useful, plus the cleaning staff was really friendly. Any issue I had was quickly addressed.Guest review byElizabethUAEUnited Arab Emirates
- From $365.52 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 493 reviewsThis hotel exceeded our expectations! The price is super low, the rooms are spacious, the staff above and beyond friendly, everything was great. I highly recommend this place if you are traveling with kids or a group, or have an extended stay. Our room had a full kitchen with cookware, even a rice cooker! Full size fridge, all of the amenities one could want. The dining area was large, and the view from the balcony was amazing! The pool floor is very fun, with a clean pool and two jacuzzis, even a playground area for little kids and lots of bbq grills to use. This is a no-frills place that still keeps a nice level of comfort. I now highly recommend staying here, and we will be back! 😊Guest review byVirenUnited States
- From $455.56 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,829 reviewsThe staff was friendly, helpful, and courteous. The housekeeping staff was like a hive of bees. They kept our room in tip-top shape, even when I tried to give them a break and told them that they could skip us for a day. Also, they kept us plied with coffee, which was a delight for me. The restaurant, the Maui Brewing Company, was superb. There was an entrance directly from the hotel, and they supplied us with a discount card to sweeten the choice. The location is in the heart of Waikiki. It would be impossible not to love the positioning, as one is right in the heart of the city.Guest review byRobertJapan
- From $193.45 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 1,935 reviewsThe hotel is near to Waikiki Beach and Honolulu Zoo. The room is huge and the bed is very comfortable. The valet parking is also good value for money and convenient since the Hawai'i parking charges are expensive (1 day is around $47 for 24hours). There is regular housekeeping daily.Guest review byDanielle RuthPhilippines

Honolulu is unique in the world.
Honolulu is unique in the world. A tropical paradise crossroads between America, Asia and Oceania. Although Honolulu is a commercial centre like any other moderate sized American city, its relaxed charm, mild tropical weather, beautiful sunsets and great beaches outweigh everything else.Guest review byMalcolm BowmanUnited States - 8.0

We were visiting my son and daughter-in-law, who live on Wheeler Airforce base. Kapolei is 20-25 minutes from Waihiwa so they could easily come to us for dinner (hotel is next to a mall with lots of restaurant options); we were also close to Honolulu (30 minutes) and the Bishop museum; pearl harbor; Honolulu art museum; and the West beaches like Electric beach. North shore about 35-40 minutes. Kapolei is a central location away from the tourist craziness of Waikiki.Guest review byElsaUnited States - 4.0

The property itself is very run down and old needing a lot of love. The construction that was going on was not an issue. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The ac they speak of is a window unit which no where near reaches past the living room/kitchen and bed. The kitchen was not complete with decent cooking pans. I certainly would not stay here again. The only nice thing about this condo was the beach access.Guest review byCharissa - 10

Location was exactly what we were looking for away from the chaos of Honolulu. Paradise Bay Resort is a great place to stay, Whiskey Smoke 808 Bar-b-Q is a good value, and Haleiwa Joe's Haiku Gardens is good but pricey. Enough stores and other options to have snacks for the room. Enough beach choices and other activities within a short drive.Guest review byAnonymous - 10
I love the North Shore. I love it in the summertime.
I love the North Shore. I love it in the summertime. I have visited in the winter months; however, I prefer the ocean calmer and warmer, so summer is perfect. Winter is also rainy season- I feel like many people don't realize this or research this. The ocean on the North Shore may have big waves in the winter months, too. That is pretty awesome to watch. Some of my favorite beaches are Three Tables, Waimea Bay, and Sunset Beach. I love to snorkel at Three Tables. Some favorite places to eat are Cholos in Haleiwa for Mexican food. I love Banzai Bowls for Acai bowls, the Sunset location is my favorite. Across from Dole plantation-- (still owned by Dole) they were selling $3 pineapples, which was pretty sweet!!! We love all of the food trucks! Ted's bakery is great. We love getting coffee and breakfast sandwiches from there. It's awesome if you're staying along the bike path and you can walk or ride a bike there. Having a car is key; there is so much to see and explore all over Oahu.Guest review byChristine - 10
Beautiful beach, that was the best part.
Beautiful beach, that was the best part. The prices in Hawaii are ridiculous. Very high. The are grocery stores that you can buy your own food and cook if you have a kitchen. Nice people. My fav was the taco truck that had such good fresh healthy food. I would eat there everyday. He was on Kihapai st and oneawa st , late in the evening. Best recommendation. Its mostly safe, some homeless here and there not much in the residential areas. Few bars from high end, to crossroads to Kailua tavern that has the best karaoke bartender you have ever heard. He sings and makes your drinks. Food is ok, if you are a foodies it's hit and miss.. in the restaurants.. Super fun, you can get amazing surfing cheap lessons with Mike and Andy at 808 Surt School by Kamehameha Hwy opposite of the shrimp shack. Lot of great experiences, so much beautiful sun. Beautiful place. We'll be back.Guest review byizabelaCanada - 6.0

This can be a good place to stay you may have to over look some of the issues this location has. THIS IS NOT A JW MARRIOTT don't expect it. Even pricey hotels aren't perfect. The beach is close and turtles do land on it in the evenings. The water is very shallow all the way out to the reef - probably good for beginners. This location is close to the Polynesian Cultural Center and is about the middle of all North Shore points of interest. We did not stay in the room much because we were away seeing the rest of the island during the day.Guest review byPaulUnited States - 6.0
