- From $739.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 107 reviewsThe grounds were really beautiful with cottages surrounding artfully landscaped grounds that were filled with birdsong. The chef was truly excellent and we enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners. Our park ranger, Paul MacKenzie, was outstanding. He knew the wildlife really well and had many tales from his interesting life. Rafa, one of the elephants blessed us with his presence at the gate on the day of our game drive and were fortunate to spend a lot of time with one of the lions. The Park concession was very good because it gave us long views. In contrast, during our solo drive from the bottom of Addo to the top, there was large bush obscuring views. I found the staff at River Bend to be really friendly and enjoyed my many conversations with them, particularly time spent talking to Jenna. I also enjoyed talking to Gladys, who worked in the kitchen. She and I share an interest in sewing with Shweshwe. We highly recommend River Bend. It is truly a 5 star experience.Guest review bySallyUnited States
- From $207.85 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 167 reviewsWe absolutely loved our stay at Zuurberg, and cannot recommend the place enough for anyone looking for a beautiful, relaxing place to stay near Addo Elephant Park. The surroundings of the property are gorgeous, nestled in the mountains, and the property itself is also beautiful. Our bedroom looked just like the photos and was very comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. Customer service was impeccable and we felt welcome and well looked after from arrival. Alexandra was superb and helped us not only with information about our stay but also with extra tips for our ongoing journey. All the staff were lovely and always ready to help. We also did a whole day game drive and an elephant encounter, both experiences organized by the property and both excellent. Zuurberg was fantastic and we look forward to coming back!Guest review byMaiaraUnited Kingdom
- From $75.01 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 483 reviewsI only have great things to say about this place. When we arrived by motorcycle it was very very hot. The manager upgraded us to a little chalet so that it would be cooler and more comfortable for us. The whole property is beautiful and well maintained. They have a pool and a lovely river. We had the breakfast in the morning and it was copious and delicious. It is definitely a place I would not hesitate to recommend.Guest review byDeniseCanada

We have been to Addo probably 40 times and just never get enough of it, and once again on rare occassions, saw a lioness up close. As always there were plenty of Buffalo, Elephant, Zebra, Red Hardebeest, Warthog, Kudu, and oh! a Hyena!Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We liked the venue. The environment is beautiful.
We liked the venue. The environment is beautiful. The road was a challenge, but we knew that we had to come with a 4x4 vehicle and the men knew how to drive on a 4x4 route. It was raining when we arrived and it was cold, but everybody should know not to travel without a jacket.Guest review byRiaanNamibia - 10.0

We did an afternoon Giraffe walk through Bellevue Lodge and it was amazing - we were taken on a safari vehicle onto a game reserve and from there had to find the grazing giraffe. Once we spotted them, we drove close by and then got out of the vehicle to walk close (but not too close) to the giraffe to watch them eat their dinner. It was a lovely experience, and our guide Stephen was knowledgeable and friendly, answering all our questions. We stayed at the Bellevue Lodge for 1 night, it was a lovely small property with friendly staff.Guest review bySusanSwitzerland - 10.0
The accommodation was lovely and very kids friendly.
The accommodation was lovely and very kids friendly. We had an amazing time, very relaxing, kids loved the pool and all the lego. Game drive was an absolute favorite with drinks at a lovely view point. The staff is friendly and we enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone to relax and rewind!Guest review byNienkeSouth Africa - 8.0
Addo was lovely, and the map was easy to navigate.
Addo was lovely, and the map was easy to navigate. I could easily do two days in the Addo and it's full of surprises. Make sure to go to the bathroom at the beginning, because toiletbreaks are far inbetween. Make sure your devices are fully charged and you have backup, because you'll be taking a lot of pics. Currently the roadworks to Addo makes it a longer drive, but all goo.Guest review byLydiaSouth Africa - 10.0

We stayed at Dungbeetle River Lodge for 2 nights while visiting Addo. We arrived in the late afternoon and then took a full day game drive from the lodge. It was a bit much for us and would do a morning game drive next time. The experience was awesome, it was just too long for our pensioner bodies! Staying 2 nights was perfect because the evening gave us a nice recovery period before we hit the road for our return to Cape Town. Dungbeetle River Lodge was a perfect location from which to travel into Addo. It's literally 3 minutes from the south gate of the park.Guest review byCharlesSouth Africa - 10.0
Everything was quite on point.
Everything was quite on point. From the receptionist service to the restaurant food and the tour around the park and service from the tour guide. Enjoyable, you will enjoy this if you love nature but probably go for the morning tour, there may be lions then.Guest review byDingiswayo - 4.0

Not a quaint little tourist town, and somewhat disappointed with our stay (for choice of shops, restaurants and ease of access to the river, lack of info for St Croix marine reserve). The Sand dunes are spectacular, but also not easy to access as on private property. The day visit permit is affordable (via Pearson resort) yet this information is not easily available to visitors. Close proximity to Addo South Gate which is great. Some marketing PR would go a long way!Guest review byCherylSouth Africa
