- From US$151.48 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.9Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 8 reviewsWhat an excellent idea to book this magical place for one night. Chris the owner, was in Heidelberg by chance, met us and drove ahed of us to the villa. He gave us a great tour around the large property, which was a good idea, because the weather turned for the worse and we wouldn't have seen these beautiful vistas on the day of departure. Chris told us that he and his neighbour take good care of these large parcels of land, which mostly remain off bounds to tourists, are kept in their natural state and all non-indigenous trees are being removed. Our grandkids loved the villa's music-room and the biljart table. We all enjoyed being in this quiet, peaceful property that was filled with the owner's pieces of art, gathered from all or the world. We really felt that we were staying in someone's private home instead of in a holiday rental. Of course, as always, the big mistake was ,only book it for one night...Guest review byyokatCanada

The rooms were amazing, very comfortable and there were.lots of quirky details. The views were stunning. The food is delicious and they catered for my dietary requirement. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed on NYE and the owner checked on with all guests to be sure we had slept well. We will definitely be back againGuest review byRachelGuernsey
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,235 reviewsMossel Bay itself, has maybe not the best offers of activities. However Bay Lodge offered us some relaxing days on a beautiful location on the beach. We particularly liked the rooms with sea view. The breakfast, which we ate on the terrace had gorgeous beach view, was extraordinary. There was lots of choices from the cooked breakfast menu and interesting good fresh fruit.Guest review byEliNorway

A really beautiful experience for anyone who loves climbing trees! Staff was so friendly for our welcoming. These units seem to be built for summer, they did their best to help with visitors in winter like us and provided everything they could, and we battled with the cold. No regrets and we still loved it!Guest review byDianaUnited Arab Emirates

The view from the outdoor swimming pool is amazing but unfortunetely it was too cold to swim outside. They do have an indoor heated swimming pool as well so that is very nice. The african aromatic massage was really relaxing and good. The breakfast was very good as well as lunch and dinner.Guest review byMatea OttenNetherlands

Knysna is a beautiful town and a highlight in the Garden Route! A must to visit is the waterfront area. We had a fantastic trip on a yacht to the Heads at sunset with Springtide! The restaurants at the Waterfront are the best in town. We loved 34 Degrees South and Drydock Company. A visit to the Heads is a highlight. Knysna is surrounded with beautiful forest and there are plenty walks to choose from.Guest review byOlivier-Kahlau - 10.0

Mossel Bay is an ideal holiday destination for travelers...
Mossel Bay is an ideal holiday destination for travelers seeking a mix of the following : 1. Historical exploration 2. Stunning beaches 3. High-energy outdoor activities, watersports, mountain biking, golf, hiking 4. Good restaurants, with some live music entertainment 5. Cabin living on farms away from the city We have been visiting Mossel Bay for the last 30 years and continue to be one of our favorite holiday destinations, making it one of the most underrated stops along the Garden Route.Guest review byColinSouth Africa - 10.0

Loved the view and i enjoyed climbing the stairs to our room. The room was cozy, bed very comfortable - had all we needed. All shops, restaurants and beach in walking distance, loved our beach strolls. The artist was busy with the most beautiful paintings within the subway leading to the beach. The breakfast at the place was delicious so we enjoyed dinner at The Blue Olive the Friday night and Ilali the Saturday night. We enjoyed the Saturday market, so many stalls.Guest review byTracySouth Africa - 10.0
Beautiful and tranquil surroundings.
Beautiful and tranquil surroundings. Tsitsikamma Lodge in the forest, stunning accommodation. Storms River Village a must to visit, lovely restaurants and starting point for outdoor activities . Enjoyed the Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour, the guides were so friendly, had loads of fun! Marilyn's 60's Diner - lovey restaurant definitely worth a visit. Don't forget to visit the Wolf Dog Sanctuary Would love to have spent more time there to explore the hidden gems.Guest review byGraceSouth Africa - 8.0
Albertinia is a small country town without the big fast food...
Albertinia is a small country town without the big fast food take aways . Very rural . You can buy the basics at one of the cafes or Pizza place . There is not much as far as shops go so it is a stopover to break a long journey or a week or two of total peace and quite without too many modern day interruptions. There is a braai area and all you could want to have to have an enjoyable stop and a good night's sleep and no rush to get you out in the morning .. I simply bought rolls and cold meat and yogurt at Piet se kafee as I did not want to cook . Coffee is provided although if to a heavy coffee drinker you may want to buy a bit extra as most guest houses only give you enough for two or three cups of coffee . I had a nice chat with the owner who told me about the abundance of underground water and about the area in general...This is not a property where you can come in and drink and party and be a nuisance to others . . No smoking inside the chalets which is excellent @Guest review byMike du PlessisSouth Africa - 10.0
