Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandGreat location. Asaka is a slightly more affluent part of the city and there seems to be a relative calmness compared to many of the other more touristy districts. Great connectivity to the rest of the city because of the nearby subway station.

Taiwanthough , the room is a bit small, all necessary equipments are completed, and it is totally fine for the solo travellers. second, the nearest gate (No. 6) is closed now. And you can leave the subway station via other gates, such as Gate 3 or 1.
i always stay here when visiting Tokyo. The location is perfect, there is a cafe in the first floor, And all staffs are very kind and helpful. The area is very quiet and safe. really l really like the hotel.

New ZealandBigger room maybe but if was ok.
There was a building site adjacent to the hotel on our side so some noise in morning but not a major. We were booked in to a superior room.. it was quite small but clean and comfortable with a small fridge and kettle. Bathroom has shower in bath. Not sure how the room compares with a standard room. Complimentary coffee sachets etc are available at reception for all guests. Cafe on site. Staff are helpful. Location suited us well with Akasaka metro station very close and area seemed very pleasant. Good value overall. Got monorail from Haneda airport to Hamamatsucho then metro. 72hr Tokyo subway ticket is a must and covers both of the extensive metro lines.

ItalyThe bed pillows were uncomfortable (but after asking at the reception, they were changed, so it wasn't a big issue). The room was a bit small (but still standard compared to Japanese rooms, so this wasn't a big problem either).
Overall, the stay was excellent. The hotel is close to multiple metro stops (and Akasaka stop is right in front of hotel). The room was clean, and the staff were very kind and helpful. There are plenty of konbini and restaurants nearby.

United Arab EmiratesNone. Everything is perfect.
I liked how convenient it is because of the nearby train station. The hotel has its coin laundry and does provide decent supplies - like skincare, bath powder, mask sheet, haircare, hairdryer free rental, and what we liked the most are the pajamas! The staff were accommodating. If I were to return to Japan, I would still definitely choose Sotetsu hotels than any other hotel chain as they are strategic in terms of location. By the way, Akasaka area is not too crowded and has several restaurant options. They even have Picasso by Donki and Matsumoto nearby!

New ZealandSuper friendly and attentive staff. A main train station was practically on our doorstep. Although on a main road near that had construction on it, it was very quiet. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had plenty of room - didn't feel claustrophobic. Quite modern and our room had a lot of natural light which was really nice. When we return to Japan, we will definitely stay here again!

JapanThe room was very small, but as I hardly spent any time there when I wasn't sleeping, it wasn't really a problem. I felt the breakfast selection could have been wider, especially the choice of drinks. Even though, I was eating in the restaurant, they gave me my drink in a disposable cup, which is not good environmentally. The toilet paper was pretty cheap.
For where I was working (Akasaka Biz Tower), the location was superb and reasonably priced. The bed was quite big for one person and comfortable. For such a small room, the bathroom was of an adequate size. The place was clean. The staff spoke English and were helpful.

New ZealandIt's close to a train station but it's the Chiyoda line. For most of the places we wanted to go, we would have to transfer to another line which is a bit of a hassle as opposed to just catching one train/line
It's located on a busy street with eateries, convenience stores, etc. Laundry service (which is located in the building next door) was not busy

AustraliaThe room is a bit small with no wardrobe. The location is a bit far from Shinjuku & Tokyo centre. But that's normal I guess. We use the metro subway to reach everywhere in Tokyo.
We are a couple and booked a twin room with a window. We stayed on the 7th floor (711) facing the lift on a non-smoking floor. The hot water shower is strong and pretty good. The hotel location is close to the metro and shopping area. The staff was nice.

Great location (for exploring west side of the city), Akasaka is a nice part of Tokyo. Kind staff, easy check in, luggage storage before check in and after check out. Better quality of the bathroom than other low budged accommodations.
