How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Unfortunately the fold out bed was very uncomfortable. The mattress could have been thicker!
Location is fantastic! Right near the shopping streets and market! Lots of cafes and pastry shops close by. Our host was very helpful with information and taxis etc. Also very happy for us to leave our luggage with them as we had a late flight.

We weren't warned that the second bedroom was up a very steep set of narrow loft stairs, and that room has a sloping ceiling so you can't sit up that well if you are tall. My room had no bedside lights so you either had the main light on, or it was dark. It was also a boxed room off the sitting room with no ability to get air in unless you left the bedroom door open. Stayed in places like this before but they had a window that could open or a two different doors you could leave ajar to get some cool in - I can only think it must be very hot indeed in the summer.
These apartments are situated in the perfect place for exploring Porto, you could walk everywhere and they are in easy reach of nice bakeries, the Bulao market and plenty of restaurants. Reception staff very helpful and you can leave your cases there before the check-in time and after check-out, though only until 6pm.

Short walk to the Bolhao market, restaurants, and easily walkable to all the major sites in Porto. When we accidentally locked a key inside one of our apartments after hours, the wonderful staff came at almost midnight to let us in.

I didn’t dislike anything.
Great cost benefit. Seamless booking & check-in experience. Prime location close to Rua de Santa Catarina and the bridge. Plenty of shops, restaurants & cafés around. Property was efficient, clean, tidy, had all the necessary amenities.

The extra rooms and beds were relatively small.
I have reserved multiple rooms for a bigger group of friends. The hosts very very friendly It was very clean. Comfortable beds. Central location. Stylish and nice interior

The reception is open at the spesific times which means you have to take that into consideration when arriving and picking up the keys.
Great location. One of the main streets is just around the corner. The city is center is just 10 minutes by foot. The nearest supermarket is 5 min away. The public trasport is at the doorstep. Even though the apartment is located at the busy street, the apartment itself located at the inner side of the buiding. This resulted in a relaxed sfeer and we didn't have any problems with outside noise. At arrival we have received complementary water and Port wine. All necessities were present and we had a great stay at the heart of Porto.

A bit noisy as a busy (but narrow) road but windows close tightly which kept the noise out!

Building a bit noisy, you can hear people coming home or walking above you. But it wasn't a bit deal since it wasn't late at night or super early in the morning.
The best location, you can pretty much walk to all the main places in the older part of the city. Apartment super clean and comfortable for 4 people.
