The food is exceptional. They have three restaurants in the hotel with only 18 rooms. The ingredients and the cooking is first class. The staff is the most welcoming staff we ever met in Japan - and that is something. The open Bath is just great. The water is original onsen water. Relaxing in the rotemburo watching the clouds on Mount Yotei is paramount. The design of the room is a fantastic mixture of Japanese tradition and modern architecture. The room, the equipment, the furniture- all fantastic.

What a great concept, it’s a capsule hotel but with the space and comfort of a hotel room. The room itself isn’t lockable but there is a lockable drawer under the bed and a big locker where you can store your baggages if you worry about your valuables. Free shuttle bus to and from the slopes (Hanazono and Hirafu) are convenient and reliable. Right next to a big supermarket (MaxValu) and within walking distance to many konbini and restaurants.

24 miles from Hirafu Station in Iwanai, Iwanai Kogen Hotel features accommodations with access to a hot spring bath and public bath.

The hotel is very Japanese. Family owned. The breakfast is quite the experience. The family owns the brewery next door.
