This 3-star ryokan offers a housekeeping service and private check-in and check-out. Tsuta Hot Spring is 36 km away and Hirosaki Castle is 22 km from the ryokan. This is a traditional Japanese ryokan with public baths (gender separated). Dinner and breakfast are amazing and plentiful, with locally sourced organic produce (even coffee!). Our room (Japanese room with private toilet) was to the left of the entrance. It was very spacious. The heater worked very well as autumn night was a bit damp and cold. The beds are futons on wood bed frames on tatami, and they are super comfortable. As I have a whole-leg tattoo which is usually not permitted in the public baths, I notified Ranko in advance, and she reserved the private bath for us. The private bath was a very beautiful blue ceramic bath filled with warm (I don’t think it’s very hot) healing hot spring water from the area. Ranko’s warm personality really made the stay memorable. Be sure to ask her for recommendations of the areas. She is a well of knowledge of the area!

Good Staff friendly moment. More variety food and easy to travel by car.

Boasting a garden and views of garden, Tsuta Onsen Ryokan is a ryokan set in a historic building in Towada, a few steps from Tsuta Hot Spring. This 3-star ryokan offers a spa experience, with its hot spring bath and public bath. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. Staff was amazing and helpful.

Koganezaki Furofushi Onsen has sea views, free WiFi and free private parking, situated in Fukaura, a few steps from Furofushi Onsen. This 3-star ryokan features a spa experience, with its sauna and hot spring bath. The accommodation offers a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage for guests. The onsen very beautiful especially outdoor. staff very friendly, the room face the ocean view, nice and clean. The food very delicious, we got a buffet line during our stay. We’re got to the hotel early because of train schedule, they let us check in early that the nice of them. If I have a chance to comeback I will stay here again.

Hot and cold water was provided in the room for drinking. You can buy dinner downstairs, the owner couple will prepare it for you.

Situated in Aomori and only 20 km from Sannai-Maruyama site, Yadoya Tsubaki features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. This 2-star ryokan provides a spa experience, with its hot spring bath and public bath. The property offers allergy-free units and is located 11 km from Gappo Park. Very clean rooms and probably one of the best mattresses (western style bed) i've ever slept on. 3 private onsens available, one of which is outdoors but without much of a view so you have privacy. Perhaps consider checking in a bit earlier because the private onsens are quite popular. Fantastic location right near the beach. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

Located at the foot of Mount Hakkoda, Hotel Jogakura provides mountain resort accommodation boasting natural hot spring baths, saunas and gorgeous Japanese meals. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and ski equipment rentals can be arranged. Staffs are very helpful. We arrived slightly early on the first day, the staff helped to speedily prepare the room and allowed us early check-in. Dinners on the two nights were different and both were good. Free shuttle bus service to Hakkoda Ropeway is out of our expectation. Scenery at the backyard near the shrine was amazing especially around 3 to 4pm before the sunset (14 Oct).

Only a 2-minute walk from JR Aomori Train Station, Iroha Ryokan offers simple Japanese-style rooms with a flat-screen TV. Japanese Yukata robes are provided for all guests and free parking is available. Room is wide and clean. Got my yukata too. Just beware that there is only 1 shower to be shared. Otherwise, all good.
