The ryokan offers bed linen, towels and laundry service. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the host was very kind and helpful.

Traditional multi-course meals are served for dinner and a Japanese set menu for breakfast. Japanese-style hotel Mizuhasou specialises in fresh seafood and exquisitely prepared local seasonal dishes. Meals are served at the dining room. Loved everything about it ! The private onsen was definitely a huge plus. The rooms were perfect. The meals were lovely and very copious. The location is perfect. I had lower expectations but this place exceeded all my expectations and was one of the highlights of my trip for sure.

Rooms in the Annex include a private bathroom with a bath and toilet, while rooms in the historical Main Building and Cottage Annex have shared bathrooms and toilets. Selected Iwaso for an authentic Japanese ryokan experience, and our expectations were exceeded. Our room was large, decorated in a traditional style, with a terrace with a view of the forest and brook. Everything was perfectly clean. Upon check-in, we have been provided with yukata which was very comfortable to wear. Both dinner and breakfast were of a traditional Japanese style and were absolutely delicious (before our arrival, Iwaso reached out to us with a query as to our dietary requirements and vegetarian options). We slept on futons on the tatami-matted floor which was very comfortable. Onsen was delightful, especially the outside one when one can look at the forest and listen to the nearby brook and crickets. Staff was very friendly, helpful and responsive. Iwaso is located conveniently for exploring Miyajima, a couple of minutes of walk from the ferry. Iwaso also operates a shuttle to the ferry which you are offered to use before checkin or upon checkout.
