Featuring a shared lounge, the 2-star ryokan has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. Very delightful stay in the middle of the beppu. Everything is within walking distance and host is very friendly and kind. Highly recommended ! Tatami set up was so comfortable and cosy for the family. Almost like a ryokan but much more friendly to the wallet.

In the Yufuin Onsen district of Yufu, close to Kinrinko Lake, Assi House features a garden and a washing machine. Private parking is available on site at this recently renovated property. Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking ryokan has a hot spring bath. The cutest bnb with the cutest cat and the kindest host! Room was awesome, I had the Japanese style room with the garden view/patio, it was very spacious and comfortable, there's even a massage chair! The bathroom and onsen facilities were great, was clean and had everything you needed. Location was good, maybe 6mins to town, 15/20min to the village. It's a small town so easy to walk everywhere. Lawsons is next door and a bbq place around the corner which I didn't get a chance to try out. Kitchen is well stocked especially if you just want to eat something at the hotel (I couldn't find an izakaya that had space for walk ins - it was Sunday). Price is very reasonable!
