The staffs are nice and helpful, the meals are excellent, the room is comfortable and stylish; the location, being located in an UNESCO primitive forest is wonderful. It is set 20 km from Iwafune Shrine and provides a lift. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi, free private parking and an electric vehicle charging station. Excellent. Welcoming and friendly staff. Super clean, wonderful surroundings, so many beautiful touches. Fresh flowers! .The Onsen was great. Breakfast was magnificent. Brilliant location in Nara. Our room was very comfortable and spacious, super clean. Nice toiletries. We wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you so much to everyone at Ryokan Asukasou.

Kasugayama Primeval Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is right next to the ryokan. Wakakusayama Mountain, offering spectacular views of Nara, is a 10-minute drive away. Todai-ji Temple is a 7-minute drive. I liked everything from Mikasa. They have a small reception in Nara city centre, and the lady who Works there is so sweet and nice. The bus collected me and my friend there, and took us to Mikasa, which is in a quiet and isolated area. The reception couldn’t be better. We had a member of their team showing us everything (I forgot her name, so sorry). We could choose a yucata, and then she took us to our bedroom,which was lovely and immaculately clean. We then had dinner - one of the highlights - which was beautiful and delicious. After dinner, we went to a tour at the mountains and the tour guide was lovely,and explained to us many things about the area. The following day we went to the hotel’s onsen and it was amazing. Breakfast was the best one I had in Japan. Mikasa was for sure one of the highlights of my trip. Thank you so much to everyone that made this experience unique. Arigato gozaimasu!
