The property is around 9.1 km from Higashiosaka Hanazono Rugby Stadium, 12 km from Nippon Christ Kyodan Shijonawate Church and 12 km from Shijonawate City Museum of History and Folklore. The ryokan has family rooms.

At the ryokan, each unit comes with a tatami and a TV. At the ryokan, all units have a shared bathroom with slippers and free toiletries. The staff are the nicest people. The futon is heated and has a duvet that is like sleeping under a cloud. The view is beautiful especially at night. The breakfast is traditional Japanese and fantastic. The temple up the street is amazing and best of all it's never crowded. There are a couple of good restaurants a short walk away. And every night we used the bath which was so relaxing. We just loved the experience.

Basic Japanese-style rooms overlook the temple compound, and feature a tatami (woven mat) floor, on which traditional futon bedding is spread to sleep in. They are fitted with air conditioning and a safe. There is not enough space in this message box to give this place its rightful praise. I'll be short: if you want to stay at a Buddhist temple, eat spectacular food, sleep in a tatami room, bathe in an onsen, have amazing views over the surrounding landscape, meditate, experience authentic, spiritual Buddhist ceremonies, be welcomed by the nicest, most kind people you have ever met and go for a midnight stroll in a lantern-lit temple complex in the mountains - book this place right now! This is something extraordinary that you might never get to experience anywhere else in the world.

The Japanese-style rooms at Mikasa Ryokan have traditional futon beds and tatami (woven-straw) floors. Each includes a flat-screen TV and private bathroom. Some rooms feature a private outdoor bath.

Kasugayama Primeval Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is right next to the ryokan. Wakakusayama Mountain, offering spectacular views of Nara, is a 10-minute drive away. Todai-ji Temple is a 7-minute drive. I liked everything from Mikasa. They have a small reception in Nara city centre, and the lady who Works there is so sweet and nice. The bus collected me and my friend there, and took us to Mikasa, which is in a quiet and isolated area. The reception couldn’t be better. We had a member of their team showing us everything (I forgot her name, so sorry). We could choose a yucata, and then she took us to our bedroom, which was lovely and immaculately clean. We then had dinner - one of the highlights - which was beautiful and delicious. After dinner, we went to a tour at the mountains and the tour guide was lovely, and explained to us many things about the area. The following day we went to the hotel’s onsen and it was amazing. Breakfast was the best one I had in Japan. Mikasa was for sure one of the highlights of my trip. Thank you so much to everyone that made this experience unique. Arigato gozaimasu!
