Hiromiya onsen is in a great location, having very nice public baths close and almost all of the 7 hells too. The host was very kind and gave us a lot of help and information about the area. Loved the comfy beds on the tatami.

Wonderful onsen ryokan in the outskirts of Yufuin, with incredibly friendly staff and a beautiful view of Mt Yufu. The food is soooo good! We stayed for two night and had two different dinner courses, both of which were lovely. The outdoor bath in the room Botan was a highlight as well — so lovely to relax in the bath with a view of the valley and mountains.

A definite top 5 for me. We got the room with a private one and it was simply so amazing to have that within seconds of your room. Also it felt like the water in the private in room onsens had much more minerals than the large one but the large one is well worth a stay too as it feels so free to be the only one there and gazing upon the mountains as you bathe.

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, the non-smoking ryokan has a hot spring bath. One of the MOST comfortable and peaceful stays I’ve ever had in Japan. I had very good sleeps and rests each night in a very comfortable Japanese, tatami style room. I really felt like a childhood home. It was very comfortable. The room was big with it’s own VERY LOVELY porch. Waking up every morning and drinking tea and eating their DELICIOUS breakfast each morning was a joy and I really felt at peace. Assi chan the cat has been keeping me company during my solo stay in the inn. She is THE SWEETEST The bathroom and toilet are not attached to the room but not an issue at all as the place is small and very comfortable and clean I’ve never stayed at a place this HOMEY before. I wish I had stayed longer. I’m definitely coming back to Assi again when I visit Yufuin next time

The staff members were very gracious, the meals were amazing, and the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. We loved our private onsen. We can't rave enough about Ryokan Fukinoya, definitely a highlight of our trip!

The property features garden views and is 26 km from Crasus Dome Oita and 5.4 km from Beppu Station. Oita Station is 18 km away and Kinrinko Lake is 22 km from the ryokan. The food was amazing. First time experience with Kaiseki menu and everything was exceptional down to the appetiser drinks. Loved that the menu showcased a lot of regional specialties to Kyushu, especially Oita prefecture. The location next to a stream was very peaceful. We enjoyed sitting and listening to the river. In room onset was great though the water from the hot spring is very very very hot (good thing they warn you in the introduction video) and loved the little touches such as females being able to pick their own Yukata pattern. Futons were very comfortable and plenty of tea and coffee available in room. A special thanks to our Ryokan host, Ryota, who tried his best to convey everything to us in English (and did so very well) and extended every hospitality possible to in an impeccable manner. We would 100% return.
