The Japanese-style rooms at Historical Ryokan Hostel K's House Ito Onsen are air-conditioned and come with traditional tatami-mat flooring. Most rooms enjoy beautiful views of the Matsukawa River. Amazing building, one of a kind location. Nice onsen onsite, as well as a couple of private baths. Wonderful staff. Definitely recomended.

The location was perfect for getting away from the busy streets of Tokyo, though I highly recommend renting a (small!) car to get here, as it is tucked away from public trsnsportation routes. Our room was clean, surprisingly well equipped and comfortable. Service was spot on, communication with our host was easy and quick. We never saw any of the staff though, which made the quality of service just that much more impressive. We were the only guests staying here at the time, so we had all facilities to ourselves (an introvert's dream). There were plenty of instructions in english for all the general how-tos, check-in and check-out was easy using the machine. Prepare to face some bugs around the area, we had a few interesting encounters with moths by the entrance. The room itself was equipped with bugspray and deterrents, though we didn't need them as our room was perfectly wildlife free. The bug screen in the private onsen kept the bugs at bay, allowing us to bathe and sleep while enjoying the sounds and smells of the surrounding nature!

We were so well looked after by our room attendants. We told them we wanted to leave early the next morning and they came to set up breakfast early at 7.30 on the dot (normal breakfast time is 8am). You really get the feel of Japanese hospitality. Our room attendant couldn’t speak English well but he explained the whole dinner and breakfast to us using google translate. Everything was delicious using regional specialties. The outdoor bath in the room was amazing. This was a really special part of our trip. I recommend arriving at the 3pm check-in time so you can bathe as many times as possible! The dinner experience was really cool. It was a full set up from 6-8pm in the room and they came to set up our futon beds after.

Hakone Checkpoint is 22 km from the ryokan, while Hakone Shrine is 25 km away. Everything! The staff were so polite and welcoming. The welcome seating and drink while staff helped us check in was so pleasant, our own personal staff to show us to our room, the beautiful room with all the little details or amenities, our own traditional Yakuta to wear to meals, the private onsen and peaceful nature of the ocean view. Everything was amazing!!

Isoaruki no Yuyado Ushiogumo -6 years or older- features sea views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kawazu, 37 km from Shuzen-ji Temple. Guests staying at this ryokan have access to a balcony. Guests have access to a hot spring bath, public bath and open-air bath. Very comfortable stay with professional housekeeping management which gave us a glimpse into traditional Japanese onsen culture; the staff are very kind and helpful taking charge of everything ranging from meals to the onsen with meticulous care; the dinner was absolutely excellent: not only did they offer a great variety of Japanese cuisine but they did it in a magnificent way, serving every delicacy with great hospitality and professionalism.

Knowing how amazing our stay was, we wish we had stayed 2 nights instead of 1. The e-bikes were a hit, as was the evening meal and the onsen. Room was extremely comfortable. Staff were lovely.

Situated in Atami and only less than 1 km from Atami Sun Beach, 素泊まり宿　瑞宝荘 features accommodation with sea views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property is located 26 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station, 33 km from Shuzen-ji Temple and 48 km from Mount Daruma. Lake Ashi is 28 km away and Hakone Open-Air Museum is 34 km from the ryokan. This was the best hotel I’ve stayed at. It was run by this cute lady, who was very talkative, friendly and just enjoyed getting to know travelers. She made my stay super comfortable and I felt so at home here. I definitely want to come to Atami again just to stay here and see her again.

Set 10 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, Yumeguri no Yado Yoshiharu offers 5-star accommodation in Izunokuni and has a garden. Ideally located in the Izu Nagaoka Onsen district, this ryokan provides a terrace, as well as a hot tub. The ryokan offers rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. I enjoyed the variety of Onsen. The food was delicious. Staff were so nice too.
