The ryokan offers soothing natural hot spring bath in natural stone tubs and an open-air hot springs bath. A shared lounge features a tatami (woven-straw) floor and view of a Japanese garden. The ryokan also offers free use of bicycles. Wonderful room with amazing private Onsen. The Kaiseki dinner was beautifully prepared and a unique experience. The Ryokan team always made sure to accommodate our wishes. We really enjoyed our stay even though our Japanese was very basic.

Both Japanese-style rooms with tatami (woven-straw) floors and Japanese futon bedding or Western-style rooms with beds are available. Each room comes with a flat-screen satellite TV, a fridge and an electric kettle with green tea bags. Japanese Yukata robes are provided for all guests. The property was very luxurious, clean and just very comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and tried to accommodate with what ever I needed. Even with the language barrier they did everything exceptionally without any issues. The food was amazing also. The dinners especially were one of the major highlights for me. I tried so many new dishes and they all tasted amazing. Being locally sourced also made if that more delicious. The room was also amazing as I had my own private onsen.

A very traditional Japanese guest house with ultra friendly and accommodating hosts. This property has been in their family for generations and they go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The meals were excellent and there was an English explanation for each dish served 😊. A big bonus is the short walk to the stairs to climb Mt Haguro. (Not that that makes the stairs any easier!) We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here!
