The Radiant City
Honoured by Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi, one of the holiest mosques in Islam, Medina is the 2nd most important Islamic pilgrimage site after Mecca. Surrounded by hills that have seen hundreds of people seek refuge in its oasis, this city has developed a range of modern facilities to host the pilgrims from all over the world.
Formerly named Yathrib, the city is also known as Madīnat an-Nabiy or ‘Prophet’s City’, and it’s also known as Al-Madīnat(u) 'l-Munawwarah or ‘Radiant City’. The Prophet Muhammad came to the city in the 7th century, seeking refuge from his opponents. According to Muslim theology, the last chapters of the Quran were revealed to him here.
The site where the Prophet lived is now occupied by the Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi or ‘Prophet’s Mosque’. Although the mosque has changed and expanded over the years, the green dome is part of the original sanctuary.
Places like the Masjid Quba mosque, the Masjid Al-Qiblatain mosque and the Al-Baqi Cemetery also represent important holy sites in Medina.

Al Madinah is a significant religious destination for Muslims, boasting numerous religious sites such as mosques and historical landmarks. However, navigating the city can be challenging due to ongoing infrastructure work, particularly when attempting to reach places like the Masjid by car. Many religious areas suffer from inadequate parking or are completely closed off.

I only stayed for 1 night on 7/4/24 in Hotel Diyar Al Sater as I didn't have a good sleep as the bed was full of bugs. Even aircon was not working well & make lot of noice. I paid only for 1 night.Raymie JSingapore

I was delighted with the room, which offered a great view of Masjid-e-Nabwi, and the vast courtyard in front of it. The room was comfortable and well-equipped. Daily breakfast, included in the room charge, offered numerous delicious options. The hotel is steps away from the mosque and making it easy to pray at Masjid-Nabwi. On the other side is a central shopping area with many clothing and jewelry shops.

Location close to Gate no. 328 of Masjid Al Nabawi. This gate is quiet far from Rawdah area so one has to walk for atleast 8-10 mins to reach the Rawdah area 2. Good breakfast with lot of options 3. I went there ( 3 minutes walk towards Haram), and the check-in, stay, and buffet were great.
