I think it’s a great place to stay as it has easy access to the rest of the lake plus Verona and the wine routes. It has very many restaurants and bars and prices are reasonable for a destination like this.

Desenzano was a buzzing place especially at weekends.
Desenzano was a buzzing place especially at weekends. There’s lots of top restaurants to be had and a few even better ones a short bus ride away. Try Rossi&Rossi, La Taverna lago de Garda and El Mexico Tex Mex all in rivoltella. Get the line 26 bus to Verona to stop rivoltella via agello 10mins from desenzano centre. The castle in desenzano is worth a visit only 10 minute walk up the hill from the centre.

Desenzano is a lovely holiday resort with a beautiful centre with plenty of restaurants and bars. Easy access to ferries.
During tge four days we were there, we visited the castle and the Roman Villa. Whilst we were there, the Giro D'Italia finished in the town which was quite exciting!
We spent half a day also visiting Sirmione by ferry and half a day visiting Pescheiria del Garda by train.
We ate at the yacht club, and the Ristorante Al Portico, both at tge Eastern end of town. And the Santa Pizza at the Western end of town. We preferred the first two restaurants.
We were using public transport. Apart from the ferry, the bus terminus and station were half an hours' walk away up a hill.
There are plenty if buses but we never really git to grips with the bus transportation system. Probably vecause of tge Guro and tge narket on Tuesday morning interfered with the routes!

Glorious surroundings, in a clean and friendly resort.
Glorious surroundings, in a clean and friendly resort.
Ferry trips are a must but can be very crowded.
More restraunts than you can shake a stick at, but are prevalantly pizza, not much else in the way of true Italian quisine.
Busses and trains are great during the day but stop running at around 20.00, and hardly run at all on Sunday

Desenzano is probably the biggest of the towns on the lake.
Desenzano is probably the biggest of the towns on the lake. It's not the prettiest of them but is most accessible by train/bus and the port provides more ferry options.
It's easy enough to get around but a few of the streets, a block in from the harbour, are steeply uphill. A lot of the footpaths have decorative cobblestones, which shake up a wheelchair. But, wheelchair users go free on the ferries, and their partner at half price, which is very decent. Ferry staff are very good at getting wheelchairs on and off via ramps. Some of the bigger ferries even have lifts to the top deck. A very good base for a holiday.

Evening walks.
Evening walks. A nice short day trip to Verona no guide needed. Not too expensive. Fantastic views of the lake. Sadly no boats running to cross the lake. A little boat crossing twice a day would be helpful as it is November and out of season

The location was good, not right in the centre so nice and quiet but close to the beach and easy walking distance to the ferry port, shops and restaurants. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The breakfast was the best - everything you could want with a lakeside view. It is not far from the train station but a steep downhill there and uphill back so I chose a taxi, which was inexpensive and the hotel are happy to arrange this for you. The room was clean and comfortable.
Very nice house type hotel, clean rooms. I liked the design and house automation of this place. The doors unlock with the key card, the furniture and stuff in the room looks fresh and modern. The host was courteous, he gave us all the information about Desenzano, recommended places to eat, sightseeings of Garda and even provided us with boat schedule. The hotel offers breakfast buffet. Very nice ratio of price and quality. I definetely recommend this place.
The apartment was great - spacious and comfortable. We went for a one bedroom apartment with a balcony and enjoyed the extra space. It had beautiful views over Lake Garda and had lovely grounds that were very peaceful. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and happy to help you with arrangements. I require gluten free food and they found some places to eat in the nearby town of Desenzano del Garda that were gluten free friendly.
Best location in Dzesenzano - directly on the main square in front of the Garda lake!
An old hotel with history, but needs a little renovation. Rooms are comfortable, but also with light marks of time and usage.
A good diversity of food for breakfast, which is not typical for Italy and a fast service.
Special thanks to reception team, they are doing their best to satisfy guests.
We spent only two day at Hotel villa Rosa . we loved the room very clean . the restaurant for lunch excellent menus and great quality food dinner was great as well you can experience romantic dinner if you are travel with your love and the breakfast superb . the personnel very helpful and professional . the Bar tender Julia was very friendly and professional!
I really recommend this hotel. Really excellent breakfast in a beautiful lake-front breakfast room. Very friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Comfortable bed, good controllable temperature in the room. I had asked for a quiet room so had a courtyard view - some scaffolding in front of the window (Feb 2024) which I'd imagine will be gone by high season.
A very nice hotel for the value (68 euro for a queen bed). The lobby and shared spaces looked very modern and the staff were very helpful with my last-minute decision making. The location is only a few blocks from the main street but its about a 20 minute trek uphill to the train station (granted the whole main town is).
An absolutely exquisite boutique hotel in the heart of Desenzano. Beautiful rooms, lovely courtyard, very enjoyable breakfast but most of all, the welcome and the hospitality was wonderful. Taxis were difficult to get on our departure so the host took us herself to the station. An exceptional stay. Thank you
staff are so kind and nice, breakfast was good and the view was great and terrace of the hotel has amazing view.. the Room was ok, clean, no small fridge in the room which not expecting especially we are in summer and on the lake.
you should know seating on the lake near the hotel not free.
Very nice hotel with exceptional staff. They were very friendly, flexible and accommodation. It is located right to the old port with a nice port and lake garda view.
We had to check out very early and the breakfast was already there before the mentioned time. Highly recommended!
Breakfast was very well done, great selection and attention to detail. The hotel is in a central location with great access to restaurants, bars, bus and ferry services, and is popular with patrons for it's café and bar.
Great breakfast and very friendly staff. Central location right in the middle of Desenzano. You can enjoy an aperol spritz or a beer right on the boardwalk outside the hotel and take in the view of the Lake.
The hotel is beautifully situated at the Gardalake: in center of Desenzano. nearby swimming spots in the lake, restaurants, boat and bike rentals, shops etc.
Great lovely breakfast and friendly staff
Very good located in the centre of Desenzano and easy to reach.
Such a wonderful family running the hotel, thank you so much for making our stay so wonderful, we really enjoyed staying at the hotel!
Excellent and highly recommended hotel for stay, facilities in good condition, staff is very responsible. Very close to the Garda lake and other tourist points of interest. All the way ++++++++++
Very nice pool, good variety for italian breakfast. Great base for exploring the lake area by car or foot, short walk into the city and two easily accessible parking areas right at the hotel.
