We arrived late and did not have time to shop for food, so she gave our kids some of her cereal bars :) The property is located in a residential area, across the street from a park. It is very calm. You will need to drive (or public transit) to Locarno, but is close to the centre of Ascona and there are groceries a short drive away and easy access to other routes. The apartment was very clean and everything looks new. Our family of five was very comfortable there. We recommend!

This place is perhaps a best-kept secret in Locarno as it affords closeness to the Piazza Grande, is surrounded by terrific restaurants in tiny, refreshing side streets, privacy inc,using an inner courtyard only for guests of the various rooms - each with their own outdoor courtyard table and chairs - all this managed by an extremely friendly and responsive manager Lorenzo! What more can one say?

The Garni Villa Siesta Park is a hotel in Losone, a 15-minute walk from Ascona. It features a huge flower garden and a barbecue area. Sun loungers, umbrellas and a heated outdoor swimming pool are available from May to September, inviting you to relax under the sun.

The double rooms and apartments with kitchen or kitchenette provide a Nespresso coffee machine. Most of them have a balcony. Breakfast was great, in particular local cheese, which I like but a lot was available, boiled eggs, bread and toppings, yogurt, cereals, coffee and much more. More me the location was perfect, because I needed to go to Monte Verità on a daily basis but I did not come by car. It is a much more difficult trip from the Ascona side up the hill. The staff were very polite and helpful, probably more so than in any other place I have been to. I even received a few locally made chocolate bars as a gift upon leaving. Because it is a rather small place and the staff is apparently multiple friends that run the business together, the staff-to-customer rate was extremely high. Because I was there for work, I really didn't have time to do things such as swim in the swimming pool, but the garden and pool area looked really nice.
