Salthill, Galway
The apartment provides guests with a balcony, inner courtyard views, a seating area, a flat-screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and an oven, and a private bathroom with bath and a hair dryer. A microwave, a toaster and fridge are also provided, as well as a coffee machine and a kettle. At the apartment complex, all units come with bed linen and towels. The apartment was spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable, well appointed and modern. Everything you need was available, washing machine, dishwasher, hair dryer, fridge, iron etc etc . The location was good for us - we were a family of 5 adults and we liked the walk along side the coastline and past the golf club on Salthill Promenade . We also walked to the city which was an approx 35 minute walk but we like to walk so it suited us but the walk to the city may be too much for a family with young children so a car would be useful. There are also taxi’s/ubers available which we used one time as we were going out to dinner. Uber was quick and easy. If you don’t want to go into the city - which would be a shame if you didn’t - there are lots of bars, pubs, shops, cafes and restaurants on the street behind the apartment and 5 mins walk away. But I would recommend a visit to the city as we visited the cathedral which was beautiful and the Spanish arch. We also did a tour of some of the well known pubs such as Garavans which was recommended to us. And some of our party took a dip in the sea off the platform on Salthill Promnede! We loved Galway and would definitely go back.

This was, without question, our favourite stay of the whole trip. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed into something very special. Marc, his son Harry, and the rest of their family are restoring a magnificent old house set in a beautiful riverside landscape, with ancient trees, a small chapel on the grounds, and views of the river from the bedroom windows. The house itself is somewhere between timeworn and lovingly renewed — full of character, a place that breathes history but feels alive. Their dog Noah, a charming and friendly dalmatian, held court from the living room chair and added even more soul to the place. It was the only spot on our journey where our baby could sleep peacefully in the room while we were able to relax elsewhere in the house. For any parents travelling with a toddler, that’s priceless. But most of all, we’ll remember the people: a wonderful evening spent chatting with Marc and another guest, Brian, who shared captivating stories of his past at sea — a moment of genuine connection, like visiting friends rather than staying in a guesthouse. This is not a polished hotel — it’s a living project, full of soul, and it deserves to be supported. We truly hope more travellers will find their way here and help this beautiful vision thrive.

Lovely pod - I was worried it would be too cosy for a family of 6 but we had plenty of room. It also had everything we needed for a one night stay - just wished we'd had more time there! Farm was great - lots to see and do which the kids (aged between 7 and 14) loved, especially the chocolate!

Liam provided us with all the info we needed upon arrival. Apartment was very clean. Small (but lovely) balcony overlooking the mountains. Beds comfortable. Lovely warm showers. Well equipped kitchen. Has everything you need if you were self catering (hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, freezer) 10 min walk to town. 5 min walk to Aldi. Reasonably priced. Couldn't fault our stay. Would return again.
Exceptional self-catering accommodation in the heart of Mulranny! The house is refurbished to a high standard, very clean, kitchen is well equipped and has everything you'll need! Great location to explore Achill island! Would highly recommend it!
Hosts were so hospitable, welcoming and lovely. Apartment/Cottage was perfect for our stay and beds were so comfortable. Kitchen facilities had anything you needed, nice few bits in the bathroom. Comfy furniture. Self catering but host surprisingly left us tea, coffee, cereal and some lovely bits in the fridge.
Close location to the town, only a 10 minute walk. We were staying in the self catering apartment & the hosts had left a list of takeout restaurants which delivered to the property. The host took time to recommend various restaurants and places for site seeing. Beautiful views of Croagh Patrick from our kitchen window.
Extremely clean. Very comfortable bed. Self catering kitchen. Basic tea/coffee, toast and cornflakes available .
The location looking out over the river was superb. The apartment was very spacious and comfortable, with great art on the walls and an impressive array of books. The kitchen was very well equipped and the knives were sharp (which is rare in self-catering apartments). Des, owner of the apartment and the Blue Goat delicatessen on the ground floor, sells a sumptuous array of cooked meats, Irish cheeses, wine, chocolates and coffee and is the perfect host.
Very comfortable stay, right by the ocean. We stayed just one night on a road trip. Self catering apartment, private, cosy and clean. Could make our own breakfast and had all we needed in the kitchen. Had coffee by the ocean in the morning just across the road. Overall we had a lovely experience
