We spent a superb week at Fewo-Egger-Thalmann. The location is great, few kilometres outside Virgen, in a beautiful natural setting slightly up the mountain slope, providing magnificent views of the valley and mountains from the large balcony! Irene and her husband are great hosts, discrete but still available if you require assistance. They made us feel welcome at all time and even gave us some eggs from their chickens. You can also buy homemade jam, syrup and liquor made by Irene. The East Tyrol is a beautiful region to explore with many impressive trails, lakes, good local food and the highest Austrian summit: The Grossglockner standing at 3,798m above sea level.

The breakfast was typical with a large selection of cheeses, hams, jams, fruits,... But the real attraction was the dinner. I have not yet eaten such good food for such a low price. The room had a lovely smell of a freshly cut wood. The staff in general was very friendly and useful and made us feel very welcome. The location is great for exploration of the Defereggental.

Lärchenhof is situated on a hillside and offers panoramic mountain views, a 10-minute drive from the Brunnalm Ski Region which reachable by the ski bus that stops directly in front of the house.

We planned long time to sleep on austrian side of Antholz expecting its worthy. So we did it and it was. Hotel is very close to Staller Sattel. You can accomodate and jump on Staller for sunset (with a car/bike) or make small walk to the river (5min below hotel), like we did before dinner. Restaurant with awesome view and stuff, meal as well. Parking large and easy to reach. Fine for 1 stay (our case) as well as main holiday (we wish to return). The mountain air and nature healed us every minutes of stay. Thank you Lärchenhof.

The appartment VILLGRATEN was very nice and comfortable even for 4 persons. The equipement is new and stylish. Hofer supermarket just around the corner. Near to the italian border (good starting point also for trips to Dolomites - Tre Cime ca 50 min by car).
