This is a beautiful hotel, clean, and with very friendly staff. It has private onsens as well as female and male ones. It's about a 10 min walk from the ski field and 5 mins from the bus station. The rooms are well heated and come with private bathrooms.

Reopened after renovation in 2022, Auberge Hidanomori is situated in quiet hills, a 10-minute shuttle ride from JR Takayama Station.

Auberge Hidanomori is one of the gems of Takayama. It is a fantastic property, with beautiful rooms and 2 private onsens. Very friendly/helpful staff, and the meals were some of the best we had in Japan. Fantastic pairings!

We really enjoyed both dinner and breakfast and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The meals were extravagant and delicious. The baths were sometimes a bit hot for my young kids but the overall experience was still very enjoyable and they still developed an interest for onsens. It was our first stay at a Ryokan and we really enjoyed it.

Great location close to the Hida village (5 min walk) and 5 min by car from the station. The owner picked us up from the station and in the morning there is a free shuttle again to the station. We dined and had breakfast, both amazing in true Japanese style. Everyone was nice and kind to us. We used the onsen which was small but very clean and well equipped.

Everything was nice I couldn't ask for more. Room fit for even 4 persons, the location was good we could walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and also to Takayama Station easily. Looking forward to revisiting :)

The location is quiet and comfortable to reach by train, the breakfast was really good as well as the staff service, the room has a nice smell of traditional tatami mats, there's even the possibility to book a private bath! Really great accomodation
