Everything was perfect! We did a road trip through Central Japan and the Fairfield Hotels offered us everything we needed and even more! The Fairfield here in Takayama was one of our favourites!! + rooms are spacious, well designed and equipped. We're looking for one night ryokan and onsen experience with dinner and breakfast. This ryokan provide us good location, best value for money and two experience in one time. Dinner and breakfast was above our expectations. Room and onsen was small but, enough for us. We just want to taste a little bit of culture experience and move on. We loved our stay at Hotel Wing - so much so that we extended our 1 night stay by another 2 nights. The hotel is well located within walkable distance to the Kiso Bridge and tourist area. It's modern and the room was great with everything we needed. The staff were extremely helpful, polite and professional. Highly recommended.

Sato san from the front desk was helpful and friendly. We appreciated her for helping to change our room from second level to ground level as we had a large luggage and there's no elevator. The buffet breakfast is delicious, happy hours and night snacks is a plus.

Facilities - A beautiful old building, the outside is charming and has a picturesque entrance. The layout is convenient and it is clean and well maintained. Rooms - the room we stayed in had a tatami floors but western style beds raised off the floor (only by a few centimetres). It had a small tv which only had local tv on it. The room is beautiful, with paper window shutters and sliding paper doors. There was a toilet inside and a basin in the entrance. Bath - the highlight. The bath is clean, and is perfect to come back to after a day of sightseeing. Staff - didn’t have much interaction, but the receptionists were extremely polite, as is standard for hotels in Japan, and the older gentlemen who showed us to the rooms was extremely helpful and polite. He brought our suitcases up in the service lift so we didn’t have to lug them up the stairs. Location - perfect, barely a 5 minute walk from the station, and another 5 minutes to the historic streets. Plenty of restaurants and shopping around.

Since the arrival to the Ryokan, the staff was friendly and kind. The place was magic and beautiful, and make you feel part of the traditional japanese culture. The room was very big, bright and nice. The onsen was relaxing and helped us to release the tireness from our trip. The dinner and breakfast were delicious and impressed us with their beautiful presentation. We highly recomend this ryokan which will make you live a unique experience!

    We enjoyed our stay at SOY, the hosts Tai & Nobuko made us feel extremely welcomed, Tai was generous and punctual with providing shuttle service to and from town which was great given the location of the house being further away from the city center. The atmosphere of SOY was exceptional, we got to slow down and appreciate our surroundings which gave us the much needed reset to our busy itinerary. We hope the cat Tama is feeling better since we last saw her!

    A budget hotel that offers nothing fancy but it was convenient, clean, warm, and comfortable. The location was superb right opposite the train station. There were minimart and restaurants around. A good place to stay if you visit Takayama central and don't want to burn your budget on accommodation.
