The room was spacious enough for more than solo traveller for the standard room. The toilet/bathroom was great. Bed is comfortable. There was enough hangings to hang my clothes. The table was big enough for me to put my necessities and still do work with my laptop.

There are shared bathrooms on the ground floor, and Mt. Fuji is visible on sunny days from several rooms. A TV is provided in the Queen Room. The view of Mt fuji from the street the hostel was on was amazing

Great view right in the room with most of Mt Fuji. Good balcony to sit on and enjoy the view. Could be a bit small for a family with some large luggage. Meals included in the price are Japanese style and good.

The staff was very attentive and accommodative. The Japanese breakfast very nice and diverse. Very good restaurant by the hotel to taste regional cuisine! The onsen experience my first was a nice discovery in and of itself with a full paronamic view of the Lake. Same excellent view from the big room. We were lucky to also have a view of Mt Fuji visible the following morning. It was a full immersive experience. We slept in kimono and on the tatami. A good night sleep!

Guests at Jizokan Matsuya Ryokan stay in rooms with shoji paper screens and traditional futon bedding. All rooms are air-conditioned and include a TV and slippers. If I could give 100 stars to this ryokan, I would do it! It was absolutely stunning experience in Nagano, the whole family and staff are extremely friendly, kind and polite. They receive lots of international travelers and they understand tourists needs. You MUST book dinners and breakfasts with them! It was amazing experience! On a practical note: rooms were authentic, hot water, heater were reliable. Location is superb, close to the temple and delicious snacks. This place is ideal for alternative travelers interested in local tradition and with the appreciation for culture and history: I wish the owners only the best customers!

The staff was lovely, we had dinner at the restaurant there- indian style, and it was delicious! The owner made everything to order and we had a great time. Atsu was so nice and welcoming! Relatively close to Matsumoto and Nagano, but great if you look for a peaceful and quiet location
