It’s so peaceful and calming, right on the lake. Micheal the owner checked on us now and then as we were 5 females aged 16-65 on our own we really appreciated that !Lovely kind man! It was large, clean and really well equiped. We were met by Hazel , she was so sweet and had the cottage heated and welcoming, even a nice welcome cake.

I loved the scenery and location of the property. Plus Miranda is an incredible host, who really cares about her guests comfort. I would recommend this place to anyone traveling in Ireland in a heartbeat, as a must to stay at. I have done a lot of travelling and I have yet to meet a host who is as kind as Miranda.

Lovely, really clean, comfortable cottage in a peaceful location. Great to have a real fire and very comfy bed. Had everything you could need and lovely, friendly host. We were on a short break with young children and this house was great. It had all the amenities we could need for a really comfortable and cosy stay. The toiletries and hot drinks supplies were a welcome touch and the beds were very comfortable. Nicely decorated, while still retaining the old world feeling of the original farmhouse.

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay at the Sligo forest retreat. It was beautifully remote and so quiet/peaceful, just what we needed. Our dog had the best time exploring and we especially enjoyed our morning coffee with the hosts lovely dog - Winnie! The location is perfect, it has a stunning lake nearby for swimming. During our stay we visited Galway, Westport, Sligo town, Strandhill, Donegal, Leitrim all within 1.5 hours drive and it was wonderful to have a quiet place to come back to after a busy day. The hosts were incredibly accommodating, friendly and full of helpful recommendations. We hope to return!
