Auchendennan FarmSelf Catering Cottages offers a beautiful setting in Arden, a short walk from the shores of Loch Lomond and only 2 miles from Balloch. These charming cottages are purpose-built and have free Wi-Fi. What a lovely property. The studio was spacious and well lit. It was sufficiently stocked with everything we needed for our stay. Everything was clean and beds were super comfy. The private garden was the highlight. Also, although a bit further from the city, which shouldn’t be a problem even if you don’t have a car since cabs are easily available, it was right across the road from the loch. The farm right outside the cottages was lovely. Peaceful location.

Situated within 43 km of Balmoral Castle and 16 km of Corgarff Castle in Tomintoul, Glenlivet by Wigwam Holidays provides accommodation with a kitchenette. This holiday home features free private parking and luggage storage space. The property offers barbecue facilities and outdoor furniture. I'm generally not a person that stays in small huts like this, but I was positively surprised by this one. It isn't the most spaceous, but it was great for the two days we stayed there, and if you're a more wilderness/camping kind of person, I definitely recommend it. The surroundings were lovely woods with some nice walking paths, that especially at night provided some great opportunities for star watching, and the hut itself has a nice little kitchen with everything you need (except maybe an oven, but if you do it right, you can definitely do without that), and a nice and clean shower, the beds were also very comfortable. Every hut also has a fire place outside, and the owners provide firewood upon request, if there is no fire ban at the moment, which can happen if it becomes too dry. I can definitely recommend this if you are looking fora little bit more adventurous stay!

Auld Tom's Rest definitely was one of the best self-catering accommodations we've ever been to! It is a sweet little house with a nice garden (with a cozy place to sit and a clothesline!) and so very well equipped! Not only did Gary, the host, present us with fresh milk, a bottle of wine, tea and coffee as well as a jar of sweets for the kids; there were so many useful items in the kitchen, like oil, flour, salt, herbs and sauces, even baking paper! Besides, there is plenty of cutlery, plates, all kinds of pots and pans etc. etc. We like to cook so we really appreciated that! A booklet made by Gary gave detailed information regarding the house as well as restaurant/pub recommendations and city maps, which also helped to make our stay as smooth as possible. Thank you for going that extra mile!! Surroundings of the house: We arrived by bus in St. Andrews and walked from the Stagecoach Bus Station to the house: 20 minutes via the city center and next to a little river, very lovely! There is also a (local) bus stop in front of the house. I recommend grocery shopping at Aldi's which is very close to the house, or at Naturity's in South Street (many healthy and organic products).

There is private parking and the property offers an electric vehicle charging station. We loved everything! This property was amazing! Best maintained property we have stayed in, in Scotland so far! It hit all the boxes, was so well appointed with everything you’d need and was tastefully set up and decorated. I would definitely recommend to anyone! I wish we’d have been able to stay longer!

Situated in Halistra and only 19 km from Dunvegan Castle, Thomas Telford Lettings - Luxurious Interiors and Seaviews features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. With lake views, this accommodation provides a patio. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. This accommodation was the highlight of our tour of Scotland. Everything was just perfect. Beautiful, spacious, clean, everything you need available. Only the price was relatively high, but in the end acceptable for the accommodation. If we come to this area again, we will definitely try to stay here again.
