Then, the hot springs shower and tub was super special. It truly was healing to our bodies that were a bit worn out from travel. Yes, stay here! We hope to stay longer next time. It was a little hard to find. Yet, a kind gentleman was watching out for us and directed us.

For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. It's super clean and new (very clean!). It was very quiet and peaceful. The kitchen appliances were complete and beautiful. The entire house was nicely designed. Very open concept layout and spacious. The balcony was outstanding for breakfast on a sunny day. Check in was smooth and parking was spacious.

The property is located 2.4 km from Nikko Toshogu Shrine, 20 km from Kegon Falls and 2.9 km from Rinno-ji Temple. Ryuzu Waterfall is 25 km away and Urushi Museum is 600 metres from the holiday home. It is definitely not a yurt and more of a cottage, but as attractive as the pictures show. When the big doors open, the picture windows look at the mountains. The construction uses natural shape of wood. All the facilities are new, modern, and quite clean. Our hostess picked us up from the train station and gave us a quick tour of town before dropping us off and making sure we knew how everything worked. She left us some gorgeous pastries. Communication prior to arrival and after was excellent. It was pouring rain on the morning of our departure and we were provided a ride to the station! Exceptional accommodations and service.

Guests at the holiday home can enjoy hiking nearby, or make the most of the garden. We had a wonderful stay at Guest House Koundo. The rooms are clean, very comfortable (we experienced the most comfortable beds here during our entire Japan trip!) and stocked with everything you could possibly need. You stay on the top floor of the property and the host lives on the ground floor. The location is excellent - in a quiet part of town with a nearby bus stop if needed, otherwise the temple complex is only a short walk away. The host is an older gentleman who speaks a little English and was very helpful and kind during our stay, helping us to make a dinner reservation. We highly recommend a stay here :)

Modern Japanese Traditional style! Really stylish! And great location! 300 meters from train station! Surrounded by many cute restaurants. Absolutely love this place! Bathroom is very pretty and there’s 2 toilets. You have everything in this room! I want to stay at this place again next time. Also, good communication with the host.
