Situated in Shimo-tajiri, 38 km from Mount Aso and 26 km from Daikanbo, Ginga no Yado Kinoko2seigo features accommodation with free WiFi, air conditioning, a garden and a shared lounge.
The lodge offers a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with free toiletries, a hairdryer and shower. A fridge and kettle are also available.
This place was just amazing: it was exactly like the pictures, a cute and quiet place to stay in nature.
The room was big and clean and it had two windows with view on the forest.
We also had access to the private bath (in another building) that was beautiful and relaxing.
Last but not least, the owners were so thoughtful and nice! They took time showing us the moon in the Observatory and during breakfast they gave us a lot of good recommendations for the rest of our trip.
I am highly recommending!

Set 41 km from Mount Aso, Kurokawa Mori no Cottage offers a garden, a terrace and air-conditioned accommodation with a balcony and free WiFi.
The accommodation comes with a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with bidet, shower and a hairdryer, while the kitchenette features a fridge, a microwave and a stovetop. A toaster is also featured, as well as a coffee machine and a kettle.
This is the best place I have ever stayed in OITA. The house is very nice and very cozy. It is very warm and the place is very beautiful! Even my mum and dad who do not normally say anything was very vocal how much they love the place. The owners were very helpful and very warm people too. Just a note that you cannot go here without a car because it is in the middle of the forest. But renting a car and going here was the best decision we have made for our whole Fukuoka trip!

People can enjoy the great pure countryside and relax. • The room is a wooden cabin which is big and clean, the host just renew the laboratory and shower room. •There is a shared kitchen, people can buying stuff from a supermarket which is close and cook by yourself.

The onsen is clean, and the view is good, especially the open air onsen at the top of the mountain. All the staff were very courteous and helpful. The room is very comfortable. The meals were fabulous and delicious. Mr Sato, the owner, was exceptionally helpful and humble. He provides free shuttle services to and fro from the bus stop to the ryokan.

Lovely cabin with two big rooms in a wooded location on a hillside. We would have been happy with only one room but the owner (who spoke English) thought that was too small! There was also a veranda to sit on but it was too cold in November. There was a sink and a toilet in both rooms. There was a private bath big enough for 2 in a cabin 10m away. The food was amazing. Really top notch cooking. Deserved a Michelin star! Don’t miss out on the food. I think it was 3,800 yen for dinner.

Lovely Japanese style room, with a great view of the village. Staff were excellent and helped with shuttle services to the bus stop. You get a little bag with a mini Japanese towel to take home.
