Quiet little pocket, great little community away from the highway... Where we stayed was off the beach, but a short distance to the beach, close to a walking trail, shops, shopping centres and all manner of facilities... didn't really need to travel outside of Coolum for supplies, it offered everything we needed. We came to Coolum Beach to visit family who live here now and had no real expectations. It is a layback, easy going place and the pace is slow and steady. Even though it rained for 7 days straight, the weather was still warm and being holiday season, it was busy, but not hectic. Lots of places to eat and drink and basically everything you need here. Very good location with a great view but there are no mosquito nets in any window so you could not stay with the windows open and it would have been nice to hear the noise of the ocean and the breeze come in, then a little too old the interior definitely to be renovated. Coolum Beach is a small town just 15 minutes drive from busy...
Coolum Beach is a small town just 15 minutes drive from busy Noosa. It still has a quiet, beach side atmosphere with families and locals making use of the facilities and setting. There are good a number of cafes and restaurants as well as a Surf Club, Bowls Club and Hotel/ Pub. plenty of choices for bottle shops and a large Coles in the centre of town. Coolum is a great location to be on the coast, central, but not in the high traffic areas of Noosa or Mooloolaba.

I am very happy that I booked 3 nights in Coolum Beach because it was a convenient location from which to explore the Sunshine Coast. I am also very happy that I booked The Point Coolum because it is a stylish complex and it is in a serene location that is slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre.

It was in a nice quiet area, too, just a short walk from shops/beach/restaurant.
