It was peaceful, and the stars were incredible.
The cabin itself was perfectly fit out and had everything we needed. I would love to go back to Tassie just to stay here again.

One of the most scenic places we have ever seen. We went back into the park late at night to stargaze. We had never seen the Milky Way look like that. Utterly beguiling, a true “must do”. Dove Lake is just a perfect place to visit. We will definitely be returning.Ford - 10Scored 10
An absolutely stunning national park, with lakes and...
An absolutely stunning national park, with lakes and mountains and lots of fresh air! There is only one road into the park, and once you have passed the visitor centre and various accommodation options, CM can only be accessed via the Park Service's shuttle buses. This has stopped the nightmare of people driving on roads they are not capable of handling, and makes your trip up to Dove Lake far more pleasant, Check the park service's website for ticket options and prices, and also for the range of marked walking trails to suit all capabilities. Check out the photos, and make sure you visit at least once!

If you love walking, hiking or mountains in general Cradle...
If you love walking, hiking or mountains in general Cradle Mountain is a blessing. Walks and circuits for every person, from the easy to the challenging one, from 20 minutes to 10 hours depending on your readiness, fitness, and training. Clean and well-maintained with spectacular views from the top, weather permitting :-). Keep in mind that you are in a mountain environment and the weather can change quickly and completely in a very short time. Good phone coverage on quite the whole area, and if you are into astrophotography its a Bortle 1 sky, cannot get better then that.

We loved our visit to Cradle Mountain.
We loved our visit to Cradle Mountain. Our first stop was the Devils @ Cradle sanctuary where we had an excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the Tasmanian Devil and the Quolls at the sanctuary. We were able to see 5 Devils being fed. Though they looked cute, they had very sharp teeth and managed to tear through the meat and bones quickly. We then went on a bus trip to Dove Lake and were able to take some great photos. Would love to visit here again.

A wonderful place!

Love the walks at Cradle Mountain.
Love the walks at Cradle Mountain. We went to devils@cradel which was so interesting. Really recommend it but keep your hands out of the devil enclosures! Bring warm clothes - lots of layers is best. We were there end of Feb and it was cold at night and early morning. We had a wild wombat just amble by, eating as it went.

The setting is beautiful, with cabins nestled amongst the trees and wildlife. Our room was of good size and the shared kitchen and bathroom s were reached by walking under a covered walkway. The kitchen was very large with plenty of equipment to prepare your own food. Two refrigerators were available for food storage. The gas heater in the kitchen was awesome on cold nights and mornings. The visitor center and shuttle bus to hiking trails was a 6 minute walk from the camp office.

Its pretty much this or Peppers and you will pay for the experience at either. Rooms were clean, warm comfortable, and well spaced apart. Facilities are limited in terms of meals. No breakfast or lunch on offer on restaurant. We went for our wedding anniversary and ate at the restaurant in the evening and the meal was fine.

If you are going to spend any time at Cradle Mountain stay here if you can get a room. The property is Clean and the Staff is great. I had to adjust my dates and the staff did it with out going trough booking. You can walk to the visitors center and catch the bus to all the stops on the mountain. Great Great Place!
