Hostellerie Kemmelberg is in a stunning but rather sad...
Hostellerie Kemmelberg is in a stunning but rather sad location as it overlooks "Flanders Field" where there are memorials to WW1 fighters every few km, including one 200 m down the lane. The location is great, the food can be excellent, BUT be warned, you are fed at the discretion of an arrogant and dismissive Chef, who is entirely happy for you to wait 2 hours between courses, while he potters about doing other things. You thought you were there to eat, he has other ideas. You have been warned...EdUnited Kingdom

The room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. We had no issues reserving a table for dinner, and what a dinner it turned out to be! The food was outstanding and the service was great. My wife has a food allergy, and they created dishes to accommodate this without fuss. Breakfast was excellent and checkout was seamless. We will definitely be staying again.

We arrived late and the staff were most helpful in getting us into the hotel despite everyone having left for the night. The breakfast was excellent and the views fantastic. Service and friendliness of staff excellent. If you like walking or cycling the hotel is perfect and you can leave the car at the hotel and enjoy the countryside around.gregUnited Kingdom
