I appreciated the personal touch by those who were at the front desk. Each person was hospitable and helpful. After a 22 hour travel time from the U.S. it was a delight to have a comfortable room - with a clean bathroom and shower. The hotel is situated near the downtown area - so it was easy to walk to town and take in some of the sights. The final hill up to the hotel is a 'pull' -- but it's worth it. The breakfast was delicious and the table setting was excellent. The ability to eat on the balcony made it a special time.

Didn´t really stay long enough to write much. We came late, and left early. However, they did us a huge favour by storing valuables we forgot in the safe, including cash and it was all there when we picked it up on the return trip. Clearly honest staff and I applaud them for that.

The staff organised breakfast for us to our room on our first day as we arrived too late due to ferry delays. Quiet room due to high floor. Free parking was a bonus. Room was OK - not as good as European standards, but good for Patagonia verde.

Puerto montt is a beatifull city and small but it works as a harbor and from here you can visit so many interesting areas.
overall the region is like a 7 days trip and even 2 weeks if you want to see all.

the city is a good base or starting point to explore the region. The city itself is unremarkable in my view but is close to a lot of amazing places: Peulla, Petrohue, Cochamo, Chiloe island, Puerto Varas, Vicente Perez national park, Puerto Varas, Puerto Octay...
The city center can be unsafe at night. I recommend move only with day light or ask for a taxi in your hotel.

The best place to stay in that area is Puerto Varas.
The best place to stay in that area is Puerto Varas. All the excursions will pick you up there. Also, get on a transfer taxi ( shared mini- bus) from and to Puerto Varas - just outside the Puerto Montt airport. Will drop and pick you at your hotel. Also, you can get on a local bus in Puerto Varas by yourself to visit the Petrohue Waterfalls and then get back on the same bus to go to Lake Todos os Santos for a half hour navigation. It is fun to do what locals do. In Puero Varas I recommend Druma restaurant. Lively, locals and soft sound track. Also, they have gluten free food.

Puerto Montt is a good opportunity to see a mid-size Chilean city unspoiled and unvarnished by tourism. However, if you are not into a gritty city full of real locals don’t brother. We had a fantastic dinner at Club Aleman.

This place is full of possibilities (trips etc.)
This place is full of possibilities (trips etc.) Problem is,that everything is completely booked +there are no cars for rental. So it's very complicated to do anything (even to get into the restaurant you have to wait a que for quite a long time), everywhere is checking of everything (masks+ temperature+ vaccination) and it's time consuming.

Puerto Montt has a nice beach area and you can get day tours from there; however, I would recommend staying in Puerto Varas instead. It's a more charming town set up better for tourists. You can get the same day tours from there. It's about a 25 minute bus ride from Puerto Montt. We enjoyed eating above the bus station and Hotel Ibis that has a food court and overlooks the harbor.
The best day tour was Volcano Osorno including the waterfall Pueyhuehue.
Great location for the waterfront, and hosts recommended a restaurant that turned out to have the best sandwich I've had in ages---just chicken with mayo, tomato, and green beans (a Chilean thing), but it was huge and delicious--at Fuente de Aji, a nice walk along the malecon from the hostal. Patricia and Jose were wonderful, and also provided airport transport (15) and bus terminal (5). The rooms are what you can expect for the great price. Very quiet and comfortable.
We received a warm welcome from the owner upon arrival. The room was huge and the beds were very comfortable. Great view out to sea. The hotel looked very grand but the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The staff were friendly and spoke very good English. The restaurant food was good.
The hotel also has a gym and a pool.
nice hotel, clean, modern, with rooms bigger than other hotels in the area. Modern and clean bathroom. Confortable bed and good pillows. The hotel has a restaurant with some good alternatives especially red meat and salmon. Friendly staff. The hotel is next to a big supermarket (Jumbo). Modern lift.
We only stayed overnight at the hotel before our journeys and activities in the surroundings, and for such a stay, it was absolutely suitable. Excellent breakfast, good price, helpful staff. Puerto Montt is not a beautiful city, but it is a good starting point for excursions in the area.
Perfect place to spend the night before a morning flight from Puerto Montt. A 10-minute drive to the airport, yet quiet — feels like being in the countryside. Our host Ivonne has a great sense of design: the cabin is simply but exquisitely furnished and the kitchen has all the basics.
The owners are nice persons and place is probably ok (Chilean standard), but to be honest, this is for students, cause the walls are from "paper" and there is no privacy at all. We had no other options because everything was full. We stayed really just overnight, never during the day.
Had single rooms too so my friend could be comfortable while I stayed in a dorm. Good location in Puerto Montt. Breakfast is basic toast and tea but hits the spot. Stayed here a night after a week in Valdivia before going deeper into Patagonia. Lockers were good sized.
the hotel is located right in the downtown area of the city. the neighborhood seems a bit sketchy, but inside the hotel is clean, well appointed, and comfortable. the lady who checked us in went out of her way to help us. there is off street locked parking too.
Staff was super nice and helped us with any request -10/10! Room was clean and comforable. Breakfast was better than most places we stayed in. The hotel itself is very safe. Had a great shower. Not fancy but great for budget trip.
it was the only place in Puerto Montt that felt safe. The city is so run down and seedy. we did not venture out of the hotel. I hope puerto Montt can be developed into a thriving tourist town as it has such great potential
We only spend one short night at the hostel so I can‘t say a lot about it. But for us it was well situated as it was close to Puerto Montt‘s and it‘s possible to get there late at night. The host also seemed very friendly
Regrettably there was no room available, despite the booking being confirmed. However, a room was offered in the twin hotel in the city which was similar in terms of offering. Nice breakfast and comfortable beds.
The host family are very nice, they drove me to Puerto Montt to see around and took me to the bank. Their daughter is lovely. The house is very clean, and have everything needed.
The owner is very helpful and provides rides to and from the airport. I had a 3 bedroom house to myself with cable tv for the price of a shared hostel room in town.
