The purpose of my visit was "Brazzeltag" at the Museum Technik had a great two days ,at the same time I visited the Cathedral .The only disappointment was the City museum which has three exhibitions on for which you have to pay extra the main museum is closed so missed seeing the very old bottle of winePeterUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

Stayed in Speyer several times - the Technical museums in Speyer and Sinsheim are excellent. Stuttgart is not too far away (Mercedes and Porsche Museums). Speyer has a lovely cathedral and centre is great for a walk (nice bars and ice cream shops).RH258United Kingdom - 10Scored 10

The place has quite a lot to offer. Unfortunately I could not find a walking tour and at the Museum everything was in German, so I missed much. Speyer would benefit of more a touristic infrastructure.

The staff at the Cathedral Information Office are very helpful, polite and friendly. The Cathedral employees are also very relaxed, and I appreciate this--just go to other places where the sacristan or the mother superior act as though they own the church. Siter Raphaela Buscher OP gave us a wonderful tour of Saint Edith Stein's memorabilia, and the new postulant, Jenny Kunz, interpreted in English. The city is like from a fairy tale. Museums , Rhein river , villages around the city, famous and maybe ( not sure ) the oldest magnificent cathedral, and two cathedrals more, just in case you have some spare time to visit them.AAnonymousSerbia

We were able to park the motorcycles in the courtyard of the hotel which was locked in the evening. The room was large, very clean and had air conditioning, which was a bonus as it was 29 degrees outside. The bathroom was large and also very clean. The hotel bar area is stunning with ivy strewn walls and cobbled paving, and has a small bar / restaurant also located next door. Breakfast was plentiful and was lovely to sit outside. Highly recommended.

Private courtyard adjacent to the Dome to hang out with a glass of local wine or for breakfast weather permitting. Parking garage for secure parking. Elevator takes you to very nice rooms. Room fridge has local beer, wine and chilled glasses at reasonable prices. Breakfast buffet was the longest I've ever seen (still no waffles or pancakes though). Room didn't have AC but did have a fan.

If you travel by car, it´s possible to find a parking lot. It costs about 1,50€ per hour from 7-19 o´clock. There is a really good restaurant "maximilian" for breakfast and dinner, where you get as guests of the property an amount of 5 %. In the city are lots of cafés. The accomodation was very new and clean and even had a littel kitchen.
