The hotel is far from "charming" but absolutely OK. Situated in a not very charming area. But OK. (If you do not mind not seeing the alps.) Breakfast is fine, but no local cheese. Nearby "Le Refuge" is an excellent restaurant serving local food (better to reserve a table), not expensive.

There was a nice young man tho’ with little English at breakfast… It was poorly presented .. for example, a packet of bacon rashers were glued together without packet , of course & put into microwave! The white residue was still on them , presented on a plate for guests…!!!!!!
He was doing hoovering while I ate… The coffee is not hot enough either! Not enough brown bread … !
My room was ok, it was told to me at reception that I got what I paid for … a bit dusty on light fixtures & skirting…

The town has plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and all amenities. It is a manageable size and can be explored easily on foot from wherever a car is parked. The scenery around the town is also beautiful and worth making an excursion. It is also a stop on the Tour de France on 25 July so expect heavy traffic around that time.

For me, it is the opposite of other peoples' description of the country and the people in general. I find the place safe, clean, and lively (Friday evening is happy and wonderful.) The people are helpful and cheerful. Eating out is unbelievably cheaper than in London. In general, the place and the people are adorable.
Room, location and breakfast was excellent. GAP was just a pass by place in my way to Nice, but I wasn't expecting to enjoy so much my stay. Room was very spacious. Location was supreme and close by to very nice restaurants. Finally the breakfast with all those locally grown food. It was so good. Worth coming back again one day.
Great little place - just like it used to be in the past.
Location is great, just minutes off the city center yet quite enough.
The garden is awesome for an afternoon drink or morning breakfast or meditation session
The staff is super helpful and a very nice restaurant is within a short walking distance
The apartment is conveniently located in the heart of Gap, surrounded by numerous bars, restaurants, and bakeries. Yet despite the bustling surroundings, we still had restful nights of sleep, undisturbed by any noise. On the whole, our stay was enjoyable and satisfying.
Restaurant exceptionally good!! Dinner was stunning and very good service. However, bedroom not very clean, even the bathroom bin not emptied from last visitors & I would say that the hotel itself is ‘very tired’ , but as said, restaurant superb!
The apartment was clean when we arrived.
The location right above the city main plaza was very practical for some aspects (the kids loved watching the Christmas lights outside and they were eagerly waiting for the carrousel to open at 10am!)
Excellent outside garden area and shady terrace. The kitchen was new and well equiped although we did not use it. Quiet position on a free bus route but also within a twenty minute pleasant walk to the centre of Gap
I guess the beds were comfortable let's say. The staff at the Reception and at the breakfast area were very kind, they are trying to keep this hotel floating... I have a few suggestions in the negative tab.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, the hotel has everything you need for a shorter stay. Special advantage: direct, free, large parking lot.
Nice hotel in the mountains with parking, pool, good restaurant, and helpful staff. We spent one night there with a small kid on the way from Cannes to Geneva.
