The facilities are amazing. The little cottages are very comfortable, spacious, insulated and well decorated. The swimming pool is of course a big plus. There is a crafts village and supermarket within walking distance and you can also buy cheese and eggs from the local farms nearby. The hosts are great and have spent a lot of time and thought in making this a great destination.

Our bedroom was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Parking for the car. The owner was a lovely lady and helpful where we could go for dinner in neighbouring villages.

We had booked here for 3 nights, and loved it so much, we stayed longer! This was honestly the highlight of our trip to the Basque country! Not sure what we did to deserve it, but we were upgraded to the most incredible apartment with walk-in closet, office, lounge, huge bedroom and TWO bathrooms - one with a double shower and the other a full bath. Just sheer luxury.
The decor is French country, really classic and clean, balanced with beautiful antique pieces. We had a large patio overlooking the mountains and close to the pool. A delight to wake up to (and admire the bright stars at night)!
We had dinner twice at the restsurant, and loved it all. The staff really make this property what it is. The times the restaurant was not open. We went a short way doen the hill to a local restaurant, which was perfect. The pool is nice and big and the jacuzzi such a treat. There is also a sauna, but we did not use it.
The breakfast is wonderful. Dont miss it. Homemade quiche, tarts, Basque cake.... yummy!!!!!!
All in all, this is now our number one destination, and we cant wait to return. Relax. And repeat. Thank you to everyone for the memories.

we have stayed at the Arcé several times over the years. It keeps its standards high though is a little old fashioned by today's standards. The breakfast and dining is very high class; though this time the evening dinner menu didn't change during our stay which was a little disappointing.
Manexenea is a charming hotel ideally located in the heart of the Basque country, in Saint-Etienne-de-Baïgorry. You will appreciate to be received here in all simplicity by Arño.

Lovely place, great for hikers. Friendly and proactive owners. Big shower. Comfortable bed. Sound of river whilst sleeping. Good breakfast, possibility to purchase and heat evening meal. Can provide sandwich for lunch. Friendly large dog (on terrace) that’s like a small bear! Fresh free range eggs for breakfast.
Featuring a bar and restaurant, Hotel Etchoinia is located in Lasse, at the foot of Munhoa Mountains. Free Wi-Fi access is available, as well as free parking.
I was in the annexe, Hotel Iraburia, 300 metres away on the hillside overlooking the village. A spotlessly clean big spacious room in a solidly-built traditional Basque building. Very quiet and peaceful.
In the morning a short stroll past the sheep field (they'll eye you suspiciously, but say "meh-eh-eh" to them as you pass and they'll relax) and there's a good breakfast with machine coffee and excellent marmalade in the main building.
