This was a repeat visit (unusual for us!) but having stayed last September and found it to fit our needs for a quick night stop whilst en route we had no hesitation in using it again. It did not disappoint. Friendly staff, a clean and comfortable room and a great breakfast. Job done! This time we ventured into St Omer which has nice bars and restaurants and is only 10-15 mins away. We also visited the nearby V1/V2 storage and launch site from WW2 called La Coupole which was a fascinating and sobering reminder of the terrors of warfare.
Set just 35 km from Calais Railway Station, aud eau maillet features accommodation in Tilques with access to a garden, barbecue facilities, as well as a 24-hour front desk.

It’s in a great location for Tilques and the surrounding towns. The neighbours to the property met us but apologies for our not good French! - they are not the owners but showed us round etc. The spa pool is lovely, and our son did enjoy it! - but we had no towels. There is a sauna but we weren’t interested in using it.

Great restaurant and plenty of safe parking.

Right next to the station, with friendly staff and a good restaurant. I was in an attic conversion at the top of the building, which was quiet, with sloping ceilings.
The ibis Saint-Omer Centre is located in the centre of Saint-Omer, just 200 metres from cathedral and the Musée de l'Hôtel Sandelin. It offers a 24-hour reception.

booked a double room and didn't expect a bunk bed over it. On the photo it shows just a double bed
Excellent staff, very comfortable and well kept hotel.
Excellent staff, very comfortable and well kept hotel. My only comment is I would like more vegetarian options in the restaurant, there was only 1 option (which was excellent) but I’d rather not eat the same thing twice in a row. I expect if I’d have asked they would have prepared something different as everyone was super helpful, but I think with more people now eating less meat it should be standard on the menu to have a few choices.

A beautiful location and building let down by poor staff manning and not being able to eat in the restaurant, despite calling early that day. We booked the hotel on route home because my wife had broken her foot and we wanted somewhere to stay where we could rest and eat and not have to travel out. The staff were superb but just over run with guests.

The setting was beautiful, the buildings were in great condition and very attractive. The rooms are small and functional. Great for a short break perhaps too small for a longer-term stay.
The food in the hotel is worth travelling for, the menu had a good selection of dishes and was so well prepared and presented. The chef is to be congratulated. The waiting and bar staff were exceptionally friendly and patient with poor french speakers!
Unfortunately, we didn't get time to look around the village.

A beautiful location only 40 minutes from the Eurotunnel for a last minute treat before returning to the UK. A stroll through the nature trails and local countryside inspired us to return again one day. An evening aperitif in the garden before an excellent dinner with quality service. Just remember to book a table before arrival as we nearly didn't get in!

Tilques is a small village with St Omer a short distance away.
Very close to the Channel Tunnel and the routes to the South of France.
Ideal location for a first and last overnight stop on your way up and down France.
All the rooms have access to a well stocked working kitchen and we usually prepare our own food, rather than eat out, although there are two restaurants within walking distance and of course more in St Omer a short drive away.
I had booked last minute and had requested a table for dinner. As I was driving I did not get the message that the restaurant was full. At check-in the Receptionist realised that I was a female travelling alone and she kindly contacted the restaurant and I was served a lovely dinner. I did not wish to travel out into a town at night on this occasion, so I feel that the Hotel looked after my needs very well.
When we went down for breakfast, the table was set with many yummy things to eat. We wish we had more time to enjoy it. The location is in a quiet village with cute farm produce vending machines. It is close to a larger village if you need gas or groceries. It is very conveniently located to calais for a chunnel crossing. Our rooms were very spacious and the beds were comfy.
The outward appearance of Chateau Tilques was breathtaking. The fabulous architecture and beautiful grounds impressed us a lot. and we looked forward to a nice genteel stay with a nice characterful room, and nice quality dinner (with request for a table for 2 at time of booking). This was the entire entire basis of our decision to book a room at this Grand Chateau
Didn't like anything. We arrived after a long drive from UK. Then told that no food available as restaurant was closed. Our room was upstairs as I am disabled. The beds here are only doubles. The cleaning is awful cobwebs etc everywhere. We would not stay again. If it had been more than one night we would have found another hotel.

The hotel had lovely interior decoration and a wonderful morning breakfast with a great selection! Super comfortable beds and a wonderful garden with a terrace to enjoy the gorgeous view. The family also make pizzas on site so no need to travel to a restaurant.
Spacious, functional, plenty of easy parking, excellent ‘no frills’ restaurant next door, fabulous continental breakfast included in the price (I do mean fabulous!). A fine looking swimming pool and the hotel is very handily close to Calais for the Chunnel.
All staff encountered were friendly, helpful and professional. The food in the restaurant was well presented and the taste was very good. Nice quiet location. Public areas well maintained.
Having booked a garden room - unfortunately the room was not as shown on web site and was very dated. However, we were able to move to a room in the Chateaux which was very nice.
Great staff, good room in the hotel, a great night’s sleep. All very clean.
Restaurant and staff were very friendly, good food, good choice of breakfast.
Good facilities
Excellent place to stay - very relaxed
Lovely countryside around
Our host was fantastic - coming to meet us in Tilques when we arrived late at night
Great breakfast
The hotel was charming and we loved the breakfast. A good place to stop en route to the south. We were sorry to only stay one night. Hope to visit again some day.
