Hotel was "nice" and in a lovely quiet, private location up a short drive from main road. Very nicely decorated and our room had a big bathroom with bath as well as shower over. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful welcome despite checking in late close to the cut off. Nothing too much trouble, immaculate facilities.

Good location if, like me, using public transport. The 'buses to Galashiels left from just across the road. Many single rooms elsewhere have skylights only or a view of the recycling bins. This one was smartly furnished and had a view of Walter Scott's courtroom. Good value for money
