I was in a double but on my own. Might have not been so roomy for 2!
The large lounge at the entrance is very attractively decorated and was a good social space.
We had private dining space and it was the right size and the staff were very good.

The hotel is a old 'modernised' Inn in the Victorian times and that twee charm has been retained. The room although a single had everything in it that I needed. Lovely ensuite bathroom looks very new. The breakfast was really good, quality ingredients cooked very well (steady on, on the bacon though :)) It's a lovely, quiet setting overlooking the loch Albie? Very friendly, attentive staff. The owner was very accommodating very late booking/check in so I was grateful for that. I hope to return on my visits to Aviemore!

Amazing place in summer.
Amazing place in summer. Clouds, mountain, green surroundings and local restaurants, everything is exceptional. Small city so a short 1-2 days stay is sufficient. Tesco and Aldi are nearby railway station. Easy train access from Galsgow.

I liked the central location of the Highland hotel and the activities for the children. The Winking Owl Aviemore is by far the best place to eat. It has such a huge choice of dishes at reasonable prices and great choices for celiacs and vegans. The staff at the Winking owl are lovely and there is a great atmosphere.

Walking in and around Aviemore views scenery beautiful but my advice would be to go self catering if you can eating out is way too expensive for food and drinks We love the area but didn't have a great experience in eating out . Our experience was of poor quality highly priced food

The main issue was that the pool and leisure facilities were unavailable due to technical issues . No one updated us before we left Glasgow to attend hotel. Manager advised that they were considering a discount but as yet nothing has been offered. We had grandson and picked this hotel specifically as it had good swimming pool so was very disappointed that it wasn't open. we had to drive to another hotel a distance away for a swim.

Downside is no breakfast provision but we really liked they provided recommendations of near-by places for breakfast(one of which we picked and loved). Big, clean lodge but just needs modernised (thread bare carpets isn’t appropriate for a £300 per night rate)!! Now been to Highlands & Aviemore hotels and still enjoy Aviemore as a location. Glad the swimming temperature is better in summer as very cold when we usually visit in January. Breakfast lovely and resort entertainment crew excellent, especially Rory!! The location is great for exploring the Cairngorms. It is a short drive away from of Aviemore town center, so you don't get the crowds and traffic, but close enough to pick up things you need. There is plenty of parking and a lake right near by. The restaurant serves a nice variety of dishes.
