The staff were generally polite, efficient, not outright unfriendly, but clearly too busy to smile much. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The grounds were pretty, well-maintained, and pleasant to sit in, whatever the weather, which was conducive to catching up with my family. The food was excellent when catering for my mother's wake, especially when accommodating my vegan daughter with some excellent cake. Just a pity many could not stay long enough to eat it all.
Onsite parking is available but limited and not really enough even if only half of the rooms (5/10) were full, never mind if visitors to the venue arrive on top, as is needed if holding a Wake or any function?
There is on-street parking nearby for mourners potentially.... (but the stay is limited to one hour)
This venue is advertised to cater for a wake of 70 mourners. This could work, provided all mourners arrive by public transport. We had fewer than 20 people, and most could not park. (Most were not local enough to arrive by train/bus, but the local population could do this easily)
There are excellent cafes within a 15-minute walking distance of this hotel, which are very pleasantly situated in the lovely Bournville Green area, where coffee/tea/Brunch can be obtained as breakfast and access to hot drinks from the kitchen/bar closes at 10 am at the hotel. (as you would expect from a bed and breakfast facility) Bournville does not have pubs, etc., as expected in an area created by the Quaker Cadbury Family, and IMO this has maintained the areas beauty. You may need to travel for evening meals and takeaways if that is what you want.
I would happily recommend The Old Farm if you need Bed and Breakfast accommodation based in this part of Birmingham if attending for business or pleasure with one vehicle and no pets.

We booked here for our son and his girlfriend after being let down by another hotel in the area. Must say they were so happy with their stay and said that there was absolutely nothing they could fault. The room was perfect, and so was the food. Definitely would stay again.
Lovely helpful staff. Quiet comfortable room and very comfortable bed. Good food in the bar and breakfast. Great value. Good position for events in Birmingham as there is a trainline from Barnt Green.

I didn't really explore Barnt Green - I headed into Edgbaston for work, which is an easy trip from the hotel. I ate at the hotel or in the city, and did not have time to travel around the local area. I've been told the LIckey Hills are lovely but sadly I didn't get a chance to find out for myself.

We didnt visit any of the area, as we were only staying in Barnt Green, to be able to visit family in Kidderminster. We used the hotel as a starting point to Kidderminster, Ludlow, Clee Hill and Bridgnorth and found it very central. There is a train line that takes you direct to Birmingham New Street.
