We only stayed for one night after a trip to Islay. The room is basic which perfectly suited our needs; The staff at Dellwood have been incredibly welcoming making the overall experience great. Everyone is very happy to chat and the breakfast feels like being hosted in a friends home. They have also been incredibly kind to post back a charger i forgot in the room, free of charge! (pun intended) Would definitely go back on the next trip to Campbeltown

Quite certainly the best B&B we've ever stayed in! Everything was PERFECT : John and David were wonderful hosts from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The house is beautiful and so clean, the decoration and equipment are wonderful and the full Scottish breakfast was excellent! Wish we could have stayed longer!! Even a lovely cake on arrival - they really look after their guests!

The apartment has everything we needed for a four-day stay. It is very comfortable and the kitchen is well-equipped. The property is located in a nice street, handy for local shops and restaurants.
The hosts are very helpful and responded quickly to a question I had.
We found the Kintyre Larder almost at the end of the street and it has a good stock of locally-supplied foods and drinks. We made several stops there. The restaurant Number Forty Two is very close by and the food and service were excellent. We had a great choice of fresh seafood and would recommend the restaurant. The Cadenhead's Whisky Shop has a "Tasting Room" cafe nearby - ask in the shop for directions because it's tucked away, a little out of sight. There's a small selection of very fresh food in the Tasting Room and its also a great place for a late morning coffee or an afternoon stop.
The distillery tours were well worth the trip - they were the main purpose of our visit. However, Campbeltown is also a good destination for boat trips, bike hire and coastal walks.
Before we even left, we were planning to go back.
Set in Campbeltown, the recently renovated Camisila offers accommodation less than 1 km from Springbank Whisky Distillery and a 10-minute walk from Mitchell's Glengyle distillery.

Fantastic traditional hotel with beautiful
Fittings & elegant broad staircase
with solid treads easy to climb even with a stick. charming, friendly staff who work efficiently & professionally. I love the biggest single malt whiskey collection in any hotel ever seen. Reading the labels can take a long time / but the whiskey menu is easier & informative. Chef excellent too.
To me the Ardshiel, Flora, Marion & their caring team is the Mull of Kintyre.

It was just right, not too busy and not too quiet, unfortunately the ferry from Campbeltown to Ardrossan had been withdrawn so we had to endure the long journey back which was not in our weekend plan. So if you are coming make sure the ferry is operating.

The town is on the downside of things but back on the way up. The two distilleries in town were excellent: Springbank and Glen Scotia and we toured both. Actually there is a small third one, Glengyle as well. There used to be over 100 distilleries before WW1. This is an area known also for its outstanding salmon and cheese. It's relatively undiscovered by tourists as well. I would recommend it and hope to be back again. Getting around in town was done with taxis.

Campbeltown is a very cozy, and very friendly little town!!!
Campbeltown is a very cozy, and very friendly little town!!! We loved the people there! People would go out of their way to help us with directions or any questions we had. The Harbour is so beautiful, breathtaking!! The town still has an old feel to it with a lot of the original buildings around 1700 to 1800’s still standing and in use!! Gorgeous architecture!! Be sure to tour around town on a rented e-bike or car. Well worth it!!! We had a wonderful stay in Campbeltown!!

I like Campbeltown, it's a lovely place with great food etc.
I like Campbeltown, it's a lovely place with great food etc. and I would encourage more people to visit. It may seem inaccessible as it's so far from everywhere else, so going out of your way to get there is well worth it.

I haven't been to Campeltown for 20 years or so and we visited on our mini tour of southern Scotland. A great base to venture out to Callander, Saddell and Machrihanish.
We ate at No.42. The food is delicious, the staff engaging and welcoming but it's a bit pricey.

Cambeltown is the southern point of the kintyre 66 route.
Cambeltown is the southern point of the kintyre 66 route. It has an interesting working harbour and 2 distilleries to visit. One, Springbank, is right in the middle of the town. Nearby are a couple of golf courses, links I believe. A drive will take you to the Mull of Kintyre lighthouse but once you park there’s a steep hike and the road is challenging and not for long vehicles.
Room was bright and airy, bed was comfortable, dinner was better than average, sitting room was comfortable. I had lost my jacket somewhere in Campbelltown and the hostess of the hotel was helpful in contacting the local establishments where I might have left it. Sadly no one had found the jacket. The view from the room was beautiful and the setting of the property also quite nice. It's a bit of a hike to the center of town but certainly doable. There is ample parking for small vehicles.
The house is in a great location in Campbeltown, just a short walk to the town centre. When we arrived the house was lovely and warm, tea cakes in the fridge and a few essential items to boot. It's a beautiful house, comfortable and cosy with one of the best showers I've been in for a long time. Better then many hotels. We all slept like logs and enjoyed our stay very much, and we will be back next time we're back in Scotland.
Brilliant location for exploring the South of the Kintyre peninsula, only a short drive from Campbeltown, (or walk/bus if you prefer).
Apartment has everything you need to feel at home, we settled to the place the minute we walked in the door.
Although situated near a road, we had no problem at all with traffic noise, and enjoyed a peaceful sleep every night.
Lovely unobstructed views over fields to the hills.
Nice hotel in the heart of Campbeltown within easy walking distance of pubs, distilleries, etc. Staff very nice and rooms comfortable if a bit dated. Price was probably a bit more than I'd usually pay for a hotel of this standard, but compared to everywhere else in Campbeltown seemed reasonable, so overall good value in a relatively expensive area. Free cooked breakfast included with room was a bonus.
The hotel is set up in a beautiful property with great views of the Loch and harbour. It was about a 20 minute walk into Campbeltown or just a few minutes drive.
The food was good and the rooms comfortable. In the main the staff were very helpful and friendly although the gentleman on reception could have been more engaging/ welcoming when we arrived.
Perfect stay for our first night of travel. Staff were so nice and helpful. We had our Day 2 required test kits delivered to the hotel and they made sure we had them at check in. They also let us know the best place for them to mail back. Hotel was nice, breakfast was terrific!
Kirsteen was welcoming and an incredible host. Great care was shown to present the room in an inviting way. Although the rooms were warm, due to unseasonably warm Scotland weather, they were comfortable and we had everything we needed.
Our room was perfect for our night in Campbeltown! We saw it had a 2 star rating so were a bit worried going in but it was a big, bright, spacious, and clean room with a comfy bed. Would totally recommend this to anyone!
Great hotel well placed on edge of town with greqt views. Spacious room with access to bar and eating area. Our host Tracey was fantastic, all the staff were friendly and made us feel really welcome.
Location was great; close to the town, walking distance but in a quiet area, with plenty of space nearby if no room on the hotel car park. Food great evening meal and breakfast - thank you
Great location with easy access to Campbeltown and surrounds. Garden was lovely and exterior of building is charming. Plenty of space for us all and quick responses on a couple of queries.
Central location in heart of Campbeltown . Friendly knowledgeable owners who will go out their way to make your stay a great experience. Lovely breakfast in a homely breakfast lounge.
