This is an excellent pub with very good rooms. My room was very comfortable, quiet and with lots of storage space for clothes etc. if needed. The breakfasts were superb, all freshly cooked to order and piping hot.
The location is good. About 15 minutes walk into town and very easy access by car to the multitude of great walks and views around the Peak District.
Also a very nice bar with a local feel to it to relax in the evening.
Windy Harbour restaurant and accommodation is in the heart of Glossopdale Valley on the B6105, at the gateway to the Peak District.

Cute farm surrounded by stunning nature. Very good location for Pennine Way walkers. Lee was exceptionally kind and caring and made us feel right at home. Thank you Lee for the pick up at the end of the trip and drop off next morning.

Glossop is a fabulous market town, with great walking in the dark peak close by. Culturally it is developing its offer with galleries, restaurants and events. It has close access links, with Manchester a 30min train ride away.

Beautiful countryside walks lots of dog friendly pubs. Local taxi company Padtax were amazing and if you let them know you have a little dog on booking and give them notice they will do everything to accommodate the request and are very reasonably priced x

Stay in Old Glossop vs Glossop proper.
Stay in Old Glossop vs Glossop proper. The whole area, however, very scenic. manor Park nice for a walk, especially on a hot day. Aircraftwreck Superfortress ‘Overexposed’ is 4 mile walk uphill but worth a visit. Go,to the Queens Head for a Traditional English Meal vs The Bulls Head for tapas.

Pub is in Old Glossop, 10 - 15 mins. walk from Glossop town centre. Old Glossop very quaint in an interesting way. Two other pubs and a lovely park 2 mins. walk from the Queens. Country walks also right on doorstep. Glossop itself a pleasant town with all the amenities one could reasonably require available. Regular trains from Manchester Piccadilly with a half hour journey time.

The hotel is in a lovely part of the country and is situated in the centre of town with all facilities and was ideal for our party of 6 doing the Trans pennine cycle trail The Norfolk provided excellent secure storage for our bikes.
Good location for train station, Glossop town centre and surrounding countryside.
Accommodation clean, cute and well equipped. Bed large and comfortable. Bathroom modern, clean and with a good shower, although you have to be careful not to wet a lot of the floor! Pleased host rang to ask permission to allow a plumber to enter accommodation, but it would have been nice to actually meet her during stay. Nice to have a pint of milk in the fridge and a packet of chocolate chip cookies on arrival. Good instructions in finding location and key.
This is my third time staying at Hawkshead which is just testimony to how lovely it is. Alan and Carole are just so accommodating and friendly and really do go out of thier way to make it a lovely stay . The location is excellent and as someone who stays in alot of hotels and air bnbs, this is honestly the cleanest place I've ever stayed. They really have thought of everything which means I now feel this place is a special home from home. Cannot wait to come back for my 4th visit .
Really well appointed property! So many properties are just that bit below par and you can see where shortcuts are taken and people have skimped. Not here, everything was top notch! Ideally situated for exploring the Northern part of the Peak District. Only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Not far from Manchester if you need a big city. Fantastic friendly, communicative local owner. We really couldn't ask for more for a weekend away.
Large family room even though we were only 2 people. Clean with en suite and comfortable bed. Bar had good range of beers and we especially liked the fact that there is an excellent Indian Restaurant on the 1st floor!!! lovely park across the road from the hotel through which you can walk into the town of Glossop.
Easy check-in with staff at the bar in the pub, nice clean rooms with all the expected things, comfy large beds, spacious triple room, views out into the street in the double we had. Good curtains and blinds. Helpful and friendly staff. We ate in the pub with no reservation and the food was a solid 7 out of 10.
The room was comfortable. Unfortunately our room was near the theatre behind where there was a party going on, so very noisy up until
after 1am.
Hotel was in a good location in the lovely town of Glossop.
We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel.
The location couldn’t be better, lovely park opposite and centre of town a few minutes walk away. Old Glossop can be reached through the park making it a lovely quiet walk. Host provided a travel cot for us and had it set up on arrival.
The breakfast was plentiful and superb. The breakfast staff were very attentive as were those who served us when we ate dinner at the hotel. We ate tapas for dinner - delicious and compliments to the chef.
We travel extensively for business and visit many hotels. The Queen’s Arms is by the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in. Everything was so clean that it just sparkled! Kudos to the cleaning staff.
I really enjoyed my stay, it was comfortable and cosy. It is dog friendly (with prior agreement) and host provided 2 dog bowls. The house is close to the station.
